So a question for debate ..

We were at HOYS last night and there was the odd btv moment (just not so obvious because, as above, they are not built like dressage horses), but the champion hack was btv throughout the supreme horse of the year judging. Appreciate that they had had a long day and it was probably tired, but just thought it was worth mentioning here.

As an aside, I was also completely mystified as to why the coloured won - it looked fat and exceptionally ordinary.

I’ve only seen the coloured winner on the horse and hound picture so don’t know anything more about it. That’s a shame about the show hack. Did you see the mess up that they had over the hack champion as the horse that originally was called as a champion was then disqualified as it came to light the horse was actually only third in its class not second because they were an equal scores and they took the wrong score as the precedent one. Such a shame.

I saw that. it was such a shame for all concerned. Awful for the 3rd placed person who ended up champion to have that taken away from them, awful for the reserve champion to miss out on the public moment of glory and awful for the true 2nd place person to miss out on the chance to contest the championship. I can't believe errors like that still happen. I haven't shown for years but even I knew that in the event of a tie it's the conformation score used to separate them, not the manners score.
