So Angry Right Now....

Bugger for some reason I thought I read somewhere that he was in nottingham!!
I could probably find a temp home here but it's a little too far with petrol monies :S

cross fingers something will come along :S poor fella.

Personally I couldnt take on a dog that could have even a hint of dog agression because my puppy is very playfull but is also a total wimp when it comes to other dogs.

I have text a couple of doggy friends to see if they can help.

Right, I have instruced Pix to put him back on the website, the lady who wanted him is now going through the process of getting a lurcher, she has a neo mastiff so he really would have been ideally placed there cos she aint gonna let him get away with anything, but sadly becasue they where stupid and hung onto him he lost of damn good home.
I can home check for him if we get any interest, he needs to be castrated if not done so, if not I can help with that, let me know, he ideally needs to be assessed with dogs (more so than cats) an unsocialised staffi is very hard to place a dog friendly staff is alot easier, (I can assess him if needs be) and speak to the owner now and give them some advice in regard to training to better help him find a home (which they desperately need by the sounds of things), if u think they will want this and wants what is best, then u can give them my number.
Ladey and Jadey just PM me if u want it, in the mean time he will go back on the rehoming site.

When the other lady wanted him it was just a case of me taking him for a week and working with him and then introducing him to my dogs and any issues I could have worked through thenn introduce him the neo, now because he has not initial home, I cannot be stuck with a dog when Im working with the ones we have to place them in homes (hope that makes sense)

LoopyLouise-i could see if the owners will go half on transport ;) :D

Cayla- thank you very very much for everything, im not sure how long the owners are going to wait much longer :( she wants rid asap and i know theyre going to just give him to anyone :(
Is there not anyone you know who can give him a temp home till he gets interests?? x

Jadyyandladyy - I have checked out the train prices and they are around the 120 return mark

These are the moments when I wish I had a car :(

I could help with transport if someone Oop North can get him as far as Sheffield / Chesterfield I can bring him back to Banbury (and I believe trains from Banbury to London are about £20 LL ;))

Not sure this is the best way to go about it, as if her is an issues at the other end "where ever he lands" then the recipient is stuck with a dog they may not bebale to manage, but if that is the way you want to go a transport run is the way to go with a few people chipping in, say A takes dog to B and then B to C, till he dog reaches its destination, is the dog castrated yet?
Its not as easy as that to just stick a dog in a foster home they need to be assessed and would possibly need a home with no cats and dogs and forster homes are hard enough to source without stipulating no animals.

Im still happy to tal to the owners and try to educate them, on A beng patient in order to find the dog the right home and B helping him in regards to training till he does go.

Thanks Cayla :)
I think that is a good idea, if Brownmare could get him from sheffield to banbury, i could get him from banbury to london (if loopylouise really does want him) just need someone to get from newcastle to sheffield.
Yes, he is castrated :)
I think you will prob be wasting your time with talking to them...
1. They dont care
2. They wont take anything in-as far as they see it, they wont have him much longer so why should they put in the effort?? :(
3. They want rid of Buster asap so wont be patient.

Its very frustrating for everyone involved, Hope something gets sorted soon.... :(

Did they castrate him?

Yes, remember i said thats what they were going to do instead of giving him away??
Well they did that, and still want rid of him. they are advertising him on facebook (in their status) as 'staffie free to good home, neutored, 1 year old puppy comes with food, harness etc.'

The main problem I can see isn't the transport, it's whether like Cayla said, if there's a problem when he gets to the other end, since he hasn't been assessed at all esp. with other dogs, then whoever takes him is going to stuck with a dog they might not be able to manage :( Can they not give you any info at all on what he's like with dogs? He must have at least come across others now and then, surely? :(

Hi JadeyyAndladyy

I would be happy to take him if we could work out a way to get him to me.
My two girls are good with other dog and are both submissive (sp) to other dogs. I do have four cats but they are all use to over excitable dogs (have to be in my house) If he isn't use to cats that will not be a problem as I have a dog gate on the living so I have a safe place for him till he gets use to them. I don't work at the moment so have plenty of time to spend with him to help him settle and receive training.

Cayla I can understand your concern that if he comes all this way and it didn't work then where would he go but let me put your mind at rest. I have had staffs all my life and believe a dog is for life want ever problems this dog has if any I will give him 100% to help him and would never dream of passing him on to someone else.

Awww that put a biigg smile on my face :)
My main problem is the distance, and whether people would pay petrol money for a dog they dont know :( if that makes sense.
Please dont build your hopes up too much as we might not be able to work something out for him :(

No, no, not worried you would pass him on, its just I have dealt with situations where things have gone drastically wrong, Im sure you know what you are doing and hope all goes well, a transport run is the best way to get round it.

I maybeabe to help transport him from N/castle half way to sheffield but would not be till the weekend?

Totally understand where your coming from Cayla.
Most staffs thrive on love and once you have a bond with them that stays for life. I know that not all are like that but that is normally through ill treatment and no trust. I also feel that even though I haven't been on this site for long that if I did come a cross a problem that I felt I needed help with then I would get a lot of support from this site :D

Cayla are you still coming to the AAD BBQ next weekend? If you are I can pick him up from you then and bring him down to Banbury. It would also be a mammoth socialisation test for him assuming you have a spare muzzle just in case

That wouldve been ideal, then i couldve taken him to london maybe.
I wanna come to the BBQ!! :D Such a shame the puppy is so far away, everything couldve been so much simpler! :(

JL I spoke to the friend I mentionde to you and she loves him haha.
She can't take her staff all that way though for them to meet...and is a bit short on the petrol money side of things.... Would they possibly come half way (to nottingham)??

Awww glad she likes him :)
Sadly they dont drive or even have a car :( there is another possibility but i dont really want to say/ask cuz i feel rude/cheeky asking :(

So u possibly have 2 options, dog testing him and if he seems ok?, try and transport him to star girls friend and possibly trying a pet taxi?
OR sending him to Loopy Louise and trying to find out te price of a pet taxi and see if if the new owner/present owner and maybe u jady could chip in to pay the pet taxi/transporter, some are a pretty good rate if they are already headed in that direction?

I dont mind dog testing him, if u can sort the transport bit?

Just had a word with the owners :) they are gonig to see if they can sort out the transport to meet Stargirl's friend half way, they will ring me when/if they sort something out :)
Cayla, how would you dog test him? would you take him for...a day?? and see what hes like with your dogs?? x

I would jump right in at the deep end:p, go collect him, take him to the nearest enclosed field(without the owner) cos no offence they sound a little idiotic) and take some of my bigger mutts and see what his reaction is to them, i.e to fight/play or ignore, I would reprimand any OTT behaviour and see what his response would be, which would help gage his behaviour and any issues someone may have, lest not forget he is a big lad, and not socialised and the biggest part of, if not a full staff.

Brilliant, when would you do that? :)
