So angry!!

Yes I did and they have been about as useful as a chocolate tea cup. I appreciate they are busy with more priority calls but I fear that they will get round to it so late in the day that all it will end up doing is antagonising him again. I called the police as he made death threats to me

Busy with more priority calls......like the ones in the last week when riders and horses have been hit and killed or seriously injured by similar nut cases!!!!

We have a landrover in our area , also kent that has driven at my kids on their ponies twice now. The problem is each time he has had a different number plate on . We followed him the other day in the car but he lost us.
The police were as helpful as they could be but they can do nothing without actually catching him in the act. It scares me but what else can you do , the kids have to ride down the road to the forest . They are 15 and 17 so they can hopefully cope. All of therir ponies are excellent in traffic but a lot of folk round here horses arent .

It is important that you report these dangerous drivers to the police and always ask them for an incident number as this will mean that it has to be logged. If you have a local rural community police officer also report it to them.
Could I ask you all to report your incidents on the www.horseaccidents.org.uk web site.

This person is clearly driving dangerously & has no respect for other road users. Make sure you report them to police & tell them how frightened you were on both occasions. if you are riding out in the meantime use a helmet cam if you have one or are able to borrow one. I reported a dangerous driver to the police for doing something similar (purposefully) and the police took it very seriously.

Also you're not alone, it's not just your word against his because you said a lot of folk at your yard knew exactly who you were on about so it seems he's done it to them too? Maybe you could get others to be equally vigilent and have anyone who has this sort of experience at his hands report him. That way the police will have to do something about him!

((hugs)) hope your boy recovers well and you are doing ok too

I did report him, police went round there and unfortunately he wasn't in. They said they will keep trying and let me know they outcome but it's all on record if anything happens again

My friend had a problem with a car being driven at her horse in threatening way. She was very lucky because a passing walker that witnessed it happened to be an off duty policeman. The driver ended up with a fine and 6 points on his licence.

In my area today, a carriage was over turned and the occupants injured when a horse spooked and bolted due to being scared by a motorcycle, police are trying to trace the biker according to local press.

It happens, luckily there were only injuries and nothing worse....

Poor ponys and you. I haven't read all the pages but i hope you contacted police he sounds like hes always down there tell everyone to keep an eye get his reg no or better film him driving like a ****. I have a loud exhaust on my car but i drive like a granny unless in on the motorway lol but i always knock out of gear a glide past horses knowing how easy it is to spook the best of horses with a boar exhaust (car came with it not my choice lol) i do a remeber a few yrs bk i van flew past us luckily i knew what it was going to do so i batterd it with my schooljng whip as it passed driver got out to complain so i saidwell what damage would you have with me and my horse pro ted down the side of it he wasn't amused lol hope your boy gets better soon xxxx

i'd be sitting on the side of the road where it happened around the same time of day and get his number plate and report him
i did this and the police took it very seriously

hope you poor boy is feeling better soon

Agree totally, wait for the ***** what is with people....

I got his number plate which is why I didn't want to go into too much detail.

He is also well known in the area for picking on horse riders. People back at the yard knew who I was talking about straight away

I'm in meopham. I have heard about a land rover doing it in shorne. Unfortunately I didn't get his number plate but I did get his address ;)

So did you or didnt you get the number plate?
If other people on youur yard have had experience with this guy then ask them to go and report their incidents too.

Sorry I didn't get his number plate, I got his address so number plate won't be hard to get. I just need to take a drive down there.

Police have been informed though and it's all on record. They have been round there a couple of times but haven't managed to catch him at home yet.

Where the driver has purposely driven at you it is important when you report it to the police to tell them you were in fear of your life. They will then treat the matter far more seriously. Always ask for an incident number to ensure your complaint is logged.
