undress himself!! Mum just called to say she found Elmo charging round the field rugless tonight....when she found the rug ALL the straps were still done up......so i can only imagine that he managed to step out of the leg straps and the wriggle the rug (with neck cover attached) off over his head!! Naughty boy! :p

Would love to know how they do it!!
Our mare has done it on more than one occasion - stable rugs, waterproof rugs, fly rugs...all lay abandoned on the floor fastened up fully!!!

My tb used to pull his rug forward eveytime he rolled or laid down.He used to bite the rug and pull really hard at the front I found him rugless once with all straps in place.

Ha, the geldings at the race yard used to do this. In the winter they have a stable rug underneath their turnouts with necks. I once went up to get them in and found all the stable rugs in the mud, straps all done up...and the horses wearing only the turnouts...straps done up on those too!!!!

Don't know how they did it but thankfully they have only done it the one time.

Hmm this worries me, not long ago our oldie got his off. only, it was underneath another rug, all the straps still done up, i honestly dont know how he managed to get it off without the other one coming off too. the next day one of the mares got her rug off too all the straps done up.
