We have etablished from the previous post that cobs can do dressage, even the hairy ones.

So what are we ment to wear and how are we best to turn out our hairy's so we fit in nicely with all the posh dressage horses? Does a flowing mane go with top hat and tails?

This is actualy a serious question, as i would welcome other views and experiences.

I have mostly stuck with walk trot test so far, and have my 3rd prelim test coming up soon. I turn my horse out naturaly although i do give him a good groom and feather wash first :) I wear beige jods, long black boots and tweed jacket. In the unlikely event that i should wish to affiliate him, would this still be suitable dress?

I was writing at the Area Festival at Patchetts on Sunday. People riding cobs tended to dress just the same as you do for unaffiliated and looked smart. Their horses were clean and tidy. Some of the Welsh Ds had been plaited but the Irish Cobs and traditionals had beautifully brushed manes and tails.

My cob (on loan to my mate) has just won yet another dressage comp :) My mate does a 'running plait' if thats the right term. She looks amazing with it and means we don't need to hog which she really doesn't suit at all - my cob that is, not my mate :)
