So dissapointed to see this :(

Hopefully marydoll worked out my post was a response to tallyho! otherwise it could be taken to have a different meaning :o

I don't know what the motivations are for this partnership, money, I suppose, but it does seem an odd one. I don't think anyone will change the egos in the midst of parelli, others have tried :o

I did work the post out Natch :) and tbh i think youre second paragraph's right
:( but i cant get my head round why they would ever be part of this circus that is parelli and i'm gutted to me its like theyve sold their soul for a quick buck.

Any trainer who promotes the thinking that their way of doing things is the only correct way is not a good trainer in my opinion. You have to have belief in your methods of course, but also realise that there are other ways out there that you can learn from.

This is by far the best comment I have read in a long time. Not born to horses but I have listened, learnt the hard way and tried a lot of things. I firmly believe that each rider, horse and therefore each partnership is unique and a mixture of different ways finds you an answer to most problems. :)

Well, fwiw, I rather feel dressage has gone off on a very dark tangent... obv it has been doing for a long time but this removes it another degree yet again...

How did the training of horses for warfare (essentially) become associated with american dude-ranchers?

Mr Perelli is way too closed minded to ever be considered a good trainer in my opinion.

Hear, hear.

*humming Money makes the world goes arund ...*

If it gets at least some of the cult off the ground fiddling with string and onto a horse it will be a good thing.

I'm not a parelli fan, but I would say, IMHO, there's as much damage being done by idiots sitting on horses hauling their heads in whilst having no concept of a correct seat, making it impossible for the horse to actually do what they want, as there is by the ground cult.
I think NH, badly performed, is responsible for a lot of messed up horses.
But I also think b!@@£y awful riding is responsible for just as much, often creating physical issues.

So personally I'd leave them on the ground if that's where their happy - the one thing I'd say in NH favour is the majority I come across when teaching at least accept THEY are the problem, not the horse, which is more than can be said for a lot of "traditionally" taught riders, who like to spend a lot of time thumping their horse with a pair of spurs whilst gripping on so much the poor thing can't move.

And as I said, I don't have a high opinion of NH......

People really you choose to train your horse how you want if you dont like it dont do it or go watch it. everyone has there own opinion there is bad methods in any sport roll kur for instance for god sake get over it I have seen far worse in top yards if horses stay in a parelli home they are not confused same as everyone trains differently I don't see why we go over it time and time again

Because nobody packages up those other abuses with a trademark and uses them to make vast amounts of money from novice owners who know no better.

I am so glad people think it is acceptable to hit a one eyed horse hard with a metal clip and film it and sell it to the "enlightened" - tell me do all parelli homes abuse their horses like this ?- so when the poor criters finally get free they cannot get used to not having the rules changed, being with held water, and hit in the face with metal clips - so glad i understand. (not !)

I had to read the article twice, I cannot get my head round the idea of that money making machine managing to get themselves involved in this. I was fairly astounded at the Catwalk thing, but knew that family liked money, looks like this lot do as well :(

It might to be interesting to see Christoph Hess of the FEI demonstrating the difference between Hyperflexion, LDR and Rollkur.

Or Robert Whittaker, after his unfortunate incident with a security guard, what will he be demonstrating ? The metal lead rope clip trick, or will he show us how to put a bridle on a horse ?

Don't worry if you can't afford a ticket, perhaps the highlights will be on U tube.

You are completely missing the point on this one, its not all about parelli although i cant stand any of them this is more about De kunffy and Zettl and their involvement in the parelli money train

I'm fascinated by the "it's OK if they stay in a Parelli home...." comment. What kind of training is that? Utterly out of their depth in the real world? Poor horses.

Greed and stupidy make a perfect marriage

:(

I'm happy enough to leave the Parelli-ists to it, though I think they're barking up the wrong tree and the Parellis are cashing in on their misguided stupidity, but I am utterly depressed to see two highly respected classical trainers, who I respect greatly, involved with them.

Aaaahh HA HA HA HA HA HA HA *breathes whilst wiping the tears from her face* ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... *collapses on the floor -its all too funny*

Since *ing when did P&L parelli become 'top names in classical frigging dressage'? Not to mention the rest of the crape :D

Its the stuff of nightmares for me, even after a nightshift last night and 3 hours kip today, i'm gonnae wake realising 2 people i really admire and aspire to are in the $h1t trough with the p's :(

I have to say, I never really 'liked' robert whitaker, I thought he was a cocky so and so with a good horse or two but his 'tallent' did not demand my respect like other riders (for example John or Michael) but to see what he subjected catwalk to, through by affiliating himself with L&P... absolutely disgusted, and I never would respect him. I utterly see where you are coming from anyone that associates themselves with these two is an absolute travesty but when it is someone you hold in high esteem, there are no words.

I have the best interest of my horse and any horse at the forefront of my mind at all times, sometimes, to see people like the P's suceeding in flooding the world with their brutality, makes you feel utterly useless and helpless. :(
