Sorry, need to vent my excitement somewhere and my non-horsey boyfriend is glazing over!! My new hairy cob finally made it home yesterday!! Seemed completely settled this morning so thought we'd venture out for a hack in the sunshine all by ourselves!!.... And he was fab!!

Stood at the mounting block like a pro... despite being warned he had probably never seen one before, didn't bat an eyelid at ANYTHING!! including a wide load lorry carrying a mobile home, field of very excited ponies, motorbikes, chargeing cows etc.. and meeting and leaving loads of other horses en route!! He really felt like he was enjoying himself and stepped out all the way, despite taking the scenic route home and him not being especially fit!!

I was really worried about everything after a bad experience/being completely ripped off with a new horse in the past, and almost gave up but WOW, isn't it great when it all goes well!!!

Hope everybody else has had a lovely horsey day!!!! x

Congrats, really happy for you

Hi Liz (Dobbin27), So glad Wellie has settled in fine! and your panic is over!!! He,s a lovely chap just enjoy him! Looking forward to seeing pictures of you & him.

Did you pick him up from Abbey Glen yesterday before lunch - if so might have seen you as me and another person on here went to view one that unfortunately had just been kicked. If it was you then he looked very nice in the flesh...if not you then he still looks lovely in the photo. Good luck with him. I'm also looking for a cob at the minute - want something to hack and maybe do some shows on.

Yes that was him!!! When I called michelle to let her know he had arrived she said eclipse had been kicked, it's a real shame, she hacked her out with me and mine before I brought him home and she was as bombproof as wellie which really surprised me!! Hopefully she'll be fine and find a nice home soon!!

....And he is just/almost 15hh!! Quiet enough for my six year old to help with on the yard but surprisingly forward and fun to ride, he jumps too!!

Aaaah now you said Welly no this one was called Murphy that was leaving as we arrived. Michelle seems to have some lovely horses on her website that unfortunately have now been sold (lucky you!) and she was more than happy to show us the rest of her herd - seemed a very genuine dealer. Good luck with your boy and keep us updated on how your both getting on.

Hi Wee brown, Eclipse,s leg is fine (although a little sore )! Shes sound and the bandage is off, as a precaution she is on some antibiotics as i don't want her to get an infection!! She will start work again in the next few days. You wouldn't have seen Wellie as he went later on that afternoon.

I,d forgotten that when Liz came back for 2nd viewing that we,d taken Wellie out with her.

Good luck with your horse hunting! I'll keep you posted how shes doing.

Just to let you all know that Eclipse also has a new home! She is lovely and is settling in nicely with her new pals (or soon to be pals!). We were really happy to have found Michelle at Abbey Glenn stables. Say what youlike about traders, Michelle knows her ponies inside and out. Eclipse was with her for two months and they took their time, care and put in lots of hard work to bring her on and get her ready for a new home. Lots of ponies coming and going, but all are treated with love, care and as individuals, which in my opinion is the best way. I would reccomend Abbey Glenn any time. Michelle let us spend time with Eclipse and didn't make us feel we were too demanding or wasting her time. Michelle welcomed the vet and Eclipse passed her 5 stage vetting without a hitch to the relief of both myself and Michelle. We are sooooo happy! And Eclipse is a very special girl!
