Ive had my eye on this little one for a while, and after phoning every other pony and missing out on them by a few days I decided to phone.

And shes still available and is the closest to me out of all the others I phoned, as shes ten minutes down the road from my house.

Im Very excited and its not even for me its for my daughter. So at three oclock we are going to see her. I hope my daughters behaved and on top form and not in a bad mood and I hate everything mode. Will make sure shes had a nap before hand.

I have a good feeling. Perhaps its fate.

Oh and not told the husband yet. ooops he'll get over it. He knows im browsing but dont think hes expecting me to get one so soon.

Im a great believer in fate, or 'gut feeling' when it comes to viewing a horse.
 
ohhhh, HOW exciting!??!

she looks really lovely and sounds great aswell. I've often wondered about people buying tiny ponies. How will you try it out? Will you be able to ride it yourself first or just pop your daughter on(!) My daughters ponies have been off a very good friend so yes i just chucked her on, or 13.2 which i was able to ride myself.
 
Well we are back and it was fab. shes such a cutie.

How we tried her was I did the usual body search as I call it. I felt her all over and checked her legs and picked her feet up. she was a diamond and didnt flinch or move a muscle. Then we took my daughter for a walk on her tacked up, down the lane and back. She was grinning from ear to ear and kept saying again again mummy I want to go again. The pony was ace really sound. Shes already calling her Ellies pony.

Then Elanor decided she had had enough of pony and wanted to play in the muddy puddles. And made me look a bit foolish as she wouldnt listen to me and I didnt want to get cross with her in front of people. grrrr kids eh always when you want them to be on their best behaviour they play up. Even the lady said to me she doesnt take any notice of you does she. I was very red faced. She had to be striped right down to come home as she was drenched.

Wish I was small enough to ride her but unfortunately ive got the weight side of things against me.

but all in all very happy with pony. Now to tackle the OH.
 
Yes I have brought her. Been so busy since then trying to get sorted. Shes coming on Saturday. Well im picking her up. I cant wait so excited. We closed the deal on saturday. Really looking forward to kitting my daughter out in some riding gear.

Will put some pictures up when she comes.
 
That's great - I think your little girl will be very pleased on Saturday. And I envy you the shopping trip - how much pink can you buy for your daughter?!?

Whereabouts do you live in Bedford? I used to live in Brickhill til about 6 years ago, now living in rural Lincolnshire
 
Im just off Norse Road,just passed the industrial estate.

I cant believe how much pink stuff you can get. Saddles, bridles, helmets its crazy. Ive got most of the bits I need, left from my old mare. I never got rid of it when we lost her, she was 12'2 so alot of it I can reuse. But little one needs riding gear.

Im hoping we can do some shows in the summer if there are any suitable little classes. Will have to look into it. So will need to get showing stuff when the time comes.

Fingers crossed she shows interest and doesnt get bored. Im sure there will be days when she would rather play. But at the minute she loves messing with my others. Hand feeds them hay and carrots and tries to groom their legs. She loves making horsey recipes as she calls it when she mixes and makes feeds. When they are finished their diner she puts water in their buckets to give them a drink. Thats why I decided it was safer for her to have a little one.

Hope it continues as im so excited.

Ah yes, I know it well. My sister lives in Putnoe and parents in Brickhill. Have lots of friends around your way too.

So where do you keep your horses? Back in the day (when I was young) I learnt to ride at Tinsleys and kept my first pony there, then kept him at Pavenham and then had a horse which I kept at another farm in Clapham. Many happy memories of riding from Clapham, along the back of Mowsbury park and on into Willington through the matchstick trees (which are no longer there)!

What's that new country store like for horse stuff - where MFI used to be? I keep meaning to call in there when I come to Bedford.
