I've called my last 2 after characters or people that I like, Dillon after my fave Matt Dillon and Liz Lemon after the lead in 30 Rock. Do you have any favourite actresses/singers ie Judy, Tate, Gwyneth, Carey?

What a lovely first name ! Funny isn't it, we never put names to the people we chat to on here so it's strange to find out your name's not really Acolyte

Someone suggested Saffron which I really like as you could shorten it to Saffy.

thanks guys. top of the running so far are hebe, hazel, saffron (saffi). I also really like fern but OH doesnt! urgh men! keep the suggestions coming please! oh we also so quite like dora as its hungarian but i reckon its a bit mean, she will be dopey dora from day one!

I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback x Border Collie (accident) called Fen. She was called that because she had a terrific ridge just like a Mohican haircut and Fennimore Cooper wrote "Last of the Mohicans". And we lived in the Fens at the time. Funny how they get their names, isn't it? My terrier is called Violet, because when we actually got her she was just such a silly dog the size of a guinea pig runt legging it round and round the stable and burrowing in the shavings that all the names we'd had for her just seemed too serious or grand. She is also now the world's most spoilt terrier, so sharing a name with Violet Elizabeth Bott out of the Just William books who threatened to "sthcream and sthcream until she was sick" if she didn't get her own way seems quite apt.

We are thinking Flora now! Its a good job we got a few weeks to think about this! Opinions on Flora as a name for her pleeeeeeease?!

oh no! didnt think of that really, just thought it suited her, and its natural and hungarian to boot! damn, maybe not then!
