So - following on from my imaginary horses post - horse toys you had as a child

I still have some of mine! A Pippa palamino pony, still have the saddle but the bridle is long gone, and I have an original Sindy horse, which I got for my 6th birthday (1974). I plonked on my grandparents bed with massive excitement, my grandad wriggled his toe and broke it's hindleg at the fetlock, so 'Scotland' as I named him was instantly lame! I've never seen another like him, apparently he is really called 'Peanut' - mine is plain old brown plastic, not flock, and now has a tail made from my own horses tail hair, as I docked him so he could play a Shire at some point! This is the link, Peanut is the last one http://www.modelhorsegallery.info/P/P-companies/MHCs_Pedigree.html

I had dapple grey and black Sindy horses, a brown horse with moveable neck and a palomino horse with moveable legs but can't remember if they were Sindy or Barbie.

I had a brown rocking horse and numerous plush horse toys including a Rainbow Brite 'starlite' horse I also won a Julip horse with Horse and Pony Magazine and I had quite a few my Little Ponies but I couldn't tell you which ones they were.

My favourite toys were britains farm animals, I had hundreds of them, kept me entertained for days!

It was all about Julips - surely the original matchy matchy??!!

Bloody hell this seller is wanting £200 for their collection :eek::eek: Maybe I should dig mine out the garage??!! And I had a lot more stables and jumps than that....!! Although in fairness I never had a horsebox..... though mine did have the luxury of having an olympic standard competition centre in front of their stables ;)

I used to play with Action Mann belonging to my brothers, my horsey toy was Anna and her horse Happytime, his joints bent for jumping, rearing etc. They came with jumps, cavaletti, saddles and everything horsey

I had Julip ponies - and one christmas my parents bought me a 'stable block' i spent hours running a riding school in my bedroom!

I also used to collect these up until about last year, but i collected the latex ones and then moved onto Equorums which are more realistic than Julips, but the woman was extremely horrible to me so i've basically given up collecting all together!

Foaling Around - Model horses aren't just for children, its like model trains are collected by all ages, so are model horses! The more expensive and delicate ones like the latex ones are more collectors items and for a collection, the cheaper plastic ones etc are more aimed at children. I am a member of the Julip forum and it's actually really nice on there, and there are about the same amount of teens as there are adults!

I have a model breyer stablemate someone custom painted and resculpted to look like my mare. Would you believe the sculptor is only 13?!

I had breyers and MLP when I was younger and now have one or two poking about but have made hundreds selling them all off, although all that money has gone towards my horse haha.

I had (and probably still have, somewhere) ...
A brown Barbie horse with moving legs
A white Barbie gypsy horse
Lots of the velvety covered ones, my favourite was a black one with a tartan rug and bandages called Shadow
My Little Ponies
Lots of Pony in my Pockets
Lots of Grand Champions horses (anyone else have those?)
My hobby horse, who looks like a furry spotty sock on a stick with googly eyes

And the Apple Tree Stables playset that mishaspey had! I've still got mine!

I've got loads more as well :o

Anna and Happytime and Peter and Sundancer. Loved them more than the 4 Sindy horses and Silver, Bandit and Tonto that were my stables in my bedroom!

I still have them all in the loft, rugged in winter and unrugged in the summer!! I would never get rid of them, they meant so much to me 30 odd years ago;)

Also had the Britains stables and Land Rover and horse box.

I had a huge, dapple grey rocking horse made by my dad that I had to give away when we emigrated :(

I had upwards of 30 Britain's horse models ranging from Roman Cavalry to show jumper stuck on five bar gate, little Shetlands, cart horses, Arabs etc etc. Anyone remember the dreadful little rubber 2 part saddles that used to go with them...with a hole in to go over the pin the rider 'sat' on? :D

I had the riding stables, barn, loads of fences and roped in all my brothers toy farm equipment too.

Also had Sindy horse, with non moving legs, in bay. He snapped a front leg about mid cannon bone so always had to wear 'bandages' to hide the join!

I had Sindy horses, stables, trailer, Range Rover and showjumps. We also had Barbie Dallas and Prancer.

Had all the Britains stuff too, my step-father mounted the stable block on a board covered in green velvety stuff and put a little fence round it and made some show jumps. The planks were made of painted ice lolly sticks, it was fab!

My step-mother had a toy horse called 'Happy Time' which she used to let us play with when we visited her mother, it was much more realistic than Sindy's, anyone else have one of those?

Loads of my beautiful horses, plus the horse box and a stable yard :) and loads of jumps etc. I loved those. Also had some Grand Champion horses.

I had a Brittons farm with lots of different horses, complete with the Landrover and trailer. Then I had the Lone Ranger ans Silver, who was fab as he had plastic western tack and all his joints were moveabel. I took him everywhere. My sister had Tonto and Scout. Then I spent hours markning stuff in the 'typed' Julip catalogue and for birthdays and xmas I had 3 julip horses, original rubber ones which I still have. didn't have and Breyers but longingly scoured the catalougue!!

I had loads of my beautiful horses I had the horse box, stables and made a x country course and rugs and haynets with them. The magazine used to have a DIY section to make accessorys. I used to tip ex socks and blazes on too......how sad. But I ran a rather large equestrian centre in my bed room which every now and again my guinea pig would visit.

I had these Breyers (I called the black one Ebony and the bay was called Prancer ;) )
