I had a lovely, very well bred horse 12 YO (which needed a good rider as he could be sharp), which had been out on loan for 3 years to a very suitable home. As I live overseas I decided I couldn't keep him anymore as I never saw him and couldn't deal with any problems that arose (plus I was still paying nearly all the costs).
I decided that rather than selling him and not knowing his future that I'd offer to give him to the loaner if he'd give him a good home and was certain he wanted him. Now, after 2 months I hear he's thinking of selling him as a younger horse has come along that he wants to buy.
I feel that me and my (ex) horse have been sold up the river. So much for securing the horse's future hey! What do you think? Was I just a sentimental mug?
