Well earlier in the week I posted as my horse had a suspected ddft tear. This was a shock to me as she had been sound two weeks previously, despite all her other issues and was still on strict box
rest.

She was crippled lame on weds am and I honestly thought that was it. Vet came back to see her that night and found a hideously deep abcsess in the cleft of her frog.

Well she had her mri yesterday, and the cause of her lameness was said abscess!
I was keeping everything crossed that it would be as it just wasn't adding up otherwise.

I honestly can't tell you how happy I am, I CANNOT stop grinning!!!

Am really pleased for you! Had been checking the forum for your update. Following an injoury to his ddft the previous year, my boy went lame last January for 7 weeks....after xrays, three different farriers looking at his foot and two different vets and then in the 7th week, 6 days before MRi booked, farrier found deep abscess and he was sound and back in work after 5 days!!

Was it Bell Equine by chance? Notice you're in Kent and know that they have an MRI, we're just down the road and unfortunately am at risk of them giving me my own arking space for the trailer

Really pleased for you, have a big big glass of wine or three!

Thanks everyone!!

CLY - She had her MRI at Bell, but my vet is baringsfield, and she ended up at the RVC at the request of insurers who referred for MRI (and they had her a whole week and missed an abscess!!)

Hussar - don't worry, I think I can live with that one!!
