I have got a massive grin from ear to ear and i dont think it will go away anytime soon.

Today me and my horse went on a hack on our own! This is a massive accievment for us as when i first got him we couldnt even hack out in company and it took about a year and a half getting him used to that. I have been long lining down the road a round the country for about a month now so today i decided to bite the bullet and go for it!

Well he was amazing! I walking him inhand down the road to the country park and got on once down there using a log. I thought this is where i would get a tantrum, but no he just walked on calmly into the park witout a fuss. We encountered a tracter, lots of dog walkers and bikes and he was brilliant with all of them, he was warey but no spinning or bolting which i was so happy with. We even had a few trots and a canter.

I so pleased with him he has come so far in the time i have had him and i really feel like he starting to trust me now.

Bit pointless and self indulgent but im just so pleased

I just went up to the field to see him and now my grin is even bigger, i called him and he came cantering across the field to me! The first time he has ever done that and its clear he is starting to really trust me after nearly 2 year. Im so happy today

Thanks , im so chuffed that if i new how to those smiley face thingys id probably just make a whole post full of them hehe

Is that anywhere near enough for you. (it's all it will let me put in i did have 90 but it said i can only put 30)

Ah well done thats great! I know just how you feel. I had my first reasonable hack out alone on my 'new' boy a couple of months ago (Had him 2 1/2 years....)

We have had a few more lovely solo hacks - he has actually been better alone recently than in company!! We have even had a canter on our own! (just the one mind)

So I know the grin, and I still smile when I think about it.

More smilies....:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D

Yay so many smiles hehe. I just cant quite believe he is the same horse. He used to rear if i tried to get him to leave the yard even in company, if i tried walking him down to the country and getting on as soon as i was on he would bolt down the road back home, so it really is a great achievment for him. He is finally growing up
