hey guys :)

so how many rugs has your horse got?
are you like me do you just keep buying :)

my horse who i have only had for 9 months has...

turnout-
2x heavy weight with detacable necks
1x medium weight
1x medium weight neck cover
1x 100g combo
2x light weight no fill, one with detachable neck

stable-
1x fleece
2x medium weight
1x heavy weight

thing is there is still a few more i want, but i find i do use all of them....

1 x Lightweight turnout

3 x Stable Rugs (100g, 200g and 400g)
1 x Wick away rug
1 x Summer sheet
1 x Fly rug

and no plans to buy any more :).

Well

shetland has one fly rug. Youngster has one fly rug, one lightweight rug and one stable rug.

Fi who ive had nearly 3 years now has 50 rugs, too many to list. 8 fleeces, 4 lightweights, 2 boetts, fly rug, summer sheet, and a selection of stable rugs and outdoor rugs. Only counted them all when i moved her to new place, however youngster should be same size as her so they will share rugs!

is many a precise answer :):)
I only have 1 horse now and still have 2 big garden box storeages things full plus random ones hanging about - the shame

2x heavy weight with necks so when one is soaked he can have the drier lighter one in the winter
3x fly
1x lightweight
1x mediumweight
1x wickaway
1x fleece
2x stable both medium weight
1x stable light weight
a few assorted douvets, singles, doubles, light and heavy weight.
1x underblanket with neck cover

Dear God... I had no idea that I have about 20 different rugs just for 1 horse! I do like them to have bone dry rugs on when they get turned out in the winter though. I was thinking about getting a couple of extras this year as they are sometimes a bit damp even after a few days of drying out.

The other 2 just have 2x light weight turn outs each as they are tough little beggars. 1 to wear 1 to air.

I also don't like to clip so I rug early to stop so much hair growing!

Guilty of hoarding rugs....I have far far far too many for my ONE horse. Some were given to me, some were bought new, many second hand.

I must have (and htis is a guess, cos I can't remember exactly)

5 x fleeces
2 x heavy underrugs
1 x med stable
1 x light stable
3 x heavy stable w/ full neck
1 x heavy stable (no neck)

1 x light t/o
1 x med full neck t/o
1 x full neck heavy t/o
1 x heavy w/ detachable heavy
2 x med wt t/o
2 x fly rugs

thats embarassing. Don't even get me started on my bridle collection....or boots....though my saddle habit seems to be getting better (I have sold a few!)

2 x fly rugs
3 x coolers
1 x fleece
1 x light weight stable
1 x med weight stable rug
1 x heavy weight stable rug
4 x light weight t/o
1 x med weight t/o
2 x heavy weight t/o

They have one LW Fal turnout each and live out for 95% of the year.
Neither were rugged last winter:eek:

The haffie only gets rugged it it's torrential rain for more than 48 hours as he gets rainscald if left without one.
The Sec D has never been rugged in 14 years.....

Me baaaaaaaaad mummy :D

far too many!!
t/o
2 x fly sheets
2 x lightweights with attachable neck
2 x medium weight with attachable neck
(have doubled up on turnout rugs as when one is drenched it takes ages to dry, with the fly rugs I need a spare to be worn while the other is being washed as she gets sweet itch)

stable
thermatex
fleece
full neck fleece
cotton sheet
medium weight
heavy weight with neck

Far far too many.....
But she does wear them all at different point and none of them just sit there :o And she likes pink rugs.....:p

2x Heavy weight turnouts.
2x Medium weight turnouts.
2x Light weight turnouts.
1x Heavy weight stable.
1x Medium weight stable.
2x Fleeces.
1x Thermatex.

11 rugs!
He never wears more than 1 at a time though because he gets bald patches and scabby withers even with a bra/rug rub thing. That sorta makes it even worse knowing that we I have 11 rugs that aren't even used together lol :o.

oh gawd, now you've got me thinking!!!

both boys have-

1 x HW turnout (detachable neck)
1 x MW turnout (detachable neck)
1 x LW turnout
1 x LW stable (detachable neck)
2 x Flyrugs
1 x Cooler/Travel rug

and they share another LW, a HW wug, a MW stable, HW stable, HW combo, a fleece and several old fashioned witney blankets.

They did have a full range of stable rugs each until I sold them- they lived in their turnouts last year and this year they'll be wintering out, so I only have LW/MW stables to use as underrugs.

I only have Horseware rugs now, don't find anything else any better.

At the last count I had 37 and only 2 horses to wear them. I have been very good since then and started selling some that I dont use an not buying anymore. But I do keep looking just in case.....

For 2 horses.

Stable rugs x 6
Med turn out x 4
Lightweight x 2
Heavy x 3
Fleeces x 2
Fly rugs x 3
Summer sheets x 3
Wicker/cooler x 3

Can get expensive when they need cleaning.

She has

2 x heavy weight turnouts one with detatachble neck and one full neck
1 x medium weight turnout with full neck
1 x light weight turnout with 100g fill no neck
1 x full fly rug and mask
1 x suede show rug
1 x waffle weave cooler
1 x snuggy hood turnout full hood
1 x reflective exercise sheet

I have at least 45 between 3 horses...and i'm fairly sure there are more i haven't thought of somewhere...

Not many :p if i had the money id probably have lots lol ;

1 heavyweight turnout
1 no fill turnout
1 summer sheet
1 heavy weight stable
1 poler fleece
1 wool rug thingy
1 waffle cooler

I have in the region of 20 rugs for one horse (and he actually uses all of them)! I have a very good reason for this though – we used to have more horses and I have kept all the rugs. When one gets dirty, he gets a clean one on.

Not sure how I explain needing to buy more though!

For one horse I have 25 rugs! Not all of them fit (some were from other ponies/horses I've owned):

Turnouts:
1 Heavy weight
8(!) Medium weight
2 Light weight

3 Stable rugs
2 Fleeces
4 summer sheets
1 fly rug
4 exercise rugs

Must try and get rid of some!...Does anybody want any? ;-)

Well then, my eventer has....

1 Heavy weight turnout with detachable neck
1 Medium weight turnout with dechable neck
1 Light weight turnout (in winter if heavy weight gets wet, she goes out with under rugs and medium weight on)
1 manky mud splattered fleece - goes under turnouts
1 winter show fleece
1 cooler
1 summer show sheet
1 sweat vest thing
1 lightweight stable
1 medium weight stable with detachable neck
1 heavy weight stable
1 under rug stable with neck

and my two year old has a fleece, light stable, light turnout which we try not to put on!

15 for two... not toooo bad.

Four for my one horse:

1 x rain sheet
2 x Mark Todd medium turnouts with detachable neck covers (Brilliant)
1 x heavyweight (Wug)

Plus (have just been out and counted) 6 assorted rugs left by departed liveries or belonging to dear departed horses but which don't fit my current horse. (Don't like to get rid of the former, and can't bear to get rid of the latter). But you've made me think!!

Too many, mare has:

Fly rug
cooler
mark todd universal sheet
masta 110 stable rug
rainsheet
100g Turnout
thick fleece
thin fleece
220g stable
200g no neck turnout
200g full neck turnout
300g no neck turnout
2x 300g full neck turnout one is pretty worn out
350g Stable
400g no neck turnout
400g fully neck turnout
500g stable
18!
Three Year old
Fly rug
rainsheet
lightweight stable
middleweight turnout
heavyweight turnout
and he shares some of my mares for the time being
4!
And i've got loads of my pony who i solds rugs left, I keep finding more and more!
And I still want to buy more, for my youngster of course!
