in over 25 years of riding I have only ever fully owned 4, have had many on loan..some on a 'see if you can fix this' basis..have only ever sold one..the rest had homes for life with me
So how many horses have you owned in your life?

Well I have never bought a horse but i'm lucky enought to have amazing parents but the majority of the horses I have had were loans
The numbers in brackets is the age I was when I had them
OWNED Rosie - shetland (only horse we have owned in the past 5 years!) (2/6)
LOANED April - Welsh A from HAPPA (7/8)
OWNED/LOANED Ludo - Welsh B bought by Save the Children Fund (if interested ask) (9/10)
OWNED Sparkle - Riding Pony (11)
LOANED Mr B - 14.2hh Welsh X the most amazing pony ever (12/13)
LOANED Token - 14.2hh Welsh X Mistake (14)
LOANED Tara - 16hh Cleveland Bay XTB for my dad but I stole her for a year when token went back(14)
OWNED Glen -15hh Conne X the best horse ever to have walked this earth (15)
LOANED Breeze - 16hh IDxTB sweet horse but owner had ruined him, very sad (16)
LOANED Chilli - 15.2hh Coloured Cob superfun horse (17)
LOANED Tia - 15.2hh Welsh Cob X My baby (19)
LOANED Tufty - 16.2hh IDxTB My dads loan horse who I steal when I'm home!
LOANED ? In the process of getting a new one!

Funnily enough my daughter asked me this the other day, we got to 37 before I gave up. But then I have usually had multiple horses and apart from a few years when I was travelling I have had horses/ponies since I was 5 years old, that's 30 odd years. Some stayed a long time, others came and went.

When i was around 10 i got Statie a 14hh superstar! Sadly pts when i was 12/13 when he was 28 from liver failure
When i was 13 i got Dexter a 14.2hh who i did everything on, he's now 9 and in a lovely home for life! Only sold him to move on to horses
Now i have Bailey a 15.2ish? who i do mainly BSJA with some XC and Dressage!
Thats quite good really, i did ride before i was 12 like in the summer holidays at my aunties yard but used to just jump on any ponies that were there at the time and plod along on hacks

As a family all the horses have been owned by my sister, my Dad and me, we have had 10, we have four of them still with us and have had 6 PTS for reasons of ill health and/or old age.

ive had on loan a naitve x 6yo who was SO naughty,2 bsja showjumpers both 9, my first pony before i bought her, an 23yo welsh mare, a 18yo gelding, aaaaaaaaaaaaand i think thats it.teehee.oh and a 5yo arab.
