So how much weight to think this fella can carry?

As it says on the tin really, how much weight do you think he can comfortably carry? He's a 16.2hh Irish Sports Horse 7yrs old? I may be going to look at him but I'm not what you could call light weight and I don't want to waste the owners time or squish him! Also general thoughts also welcome, he would be used mainly for hacking and hunting with the occasional hunter trial. So your thoughts please oh wise and wonderful H&H crew!?

I would say that it could carry 13/14stone easily my friend rides a 14.2 connemara and she is 12 stone

Ive seen horses of some of my clients carry almost 18/20stone, big men, one horse in particular is a meadium/heavy weight cob who is only about 15hh and the other is an irish draft only a hand bigger than this boy you like.
They both hunt during the winter, the ID owner is a two/three times a week hunter

Arabs carry grown men through the desert up to 13/14 stone so i would imagine this boy could carry that and more

Phew!! I'm not going to squish him!, He is absolutely gorgeous, his owner rang me this morning in response to a wanted add. The bonus is thats she's very local to me! So on this basis I think I will go and take a look! I don't know if you can tell much from that photo, but what is are your opinions confo wise?

He looks gorgeous and I'd say he'd have no problems carrying your average bloke although it always depends more on the capabilities/balance of the rider than their weight I think...

Well the one thing I have always had is a good seat and balance (according to my instructors!), its just the rest of the riding skills that may be an issue!!!! But I have been told he is a confidence giver and is excellent to hunt so I am hoping his confidence will re-awaken any skill I used to have!

He is gorgeous, I can't comment on conformation, but wow, I love him. I would say he could carry 14/15 stone (assuming you are a decent rider and not a complete novice - and that is not meant to be rude!!)
