Is your girth?? I'm going to ride a horse for a friend tomorrow and she has tack but no girth. I found one i though would fit in my tack hamper which looks good as new, no fraying at buckles, stitching all intact, it looks brand new, but its about 20 years old and hasn't been used in 10 years. Its the fabric kind, not leather. After i shoved it in the washing machine it struck me that maybe i should buy a new one, just incase. Thoughts please

Mmm my head would probably tell me to get a new one, but admittedly, sometimes I take the odd risk - in fact one of my stirrup leathers is looking a bit worse for wear!

I suppose it depends what you will be doing - if you are just pottering around a school slowly then maybe ok for just the once - but certainly wouldn't risk it any further than that!

I have a stack of girths, all given to me free. Some fit Mollie, some don't.

I have absolutely no idea how old any of them are. :p

Cheers guys, I'm not a risk taker but it looks brand new, like its just out the wrapper. I have no idea how well they age. I'm only going for a wee pootle down the road, but hey i've ended up on my heiny on many a hack ;)
