And she's all snarly! Not quite the quiet cuddly old girl Id told my other half about!
She seems to have taken a dislike in particular to his lab. They both love balls but she wants all the balls!!!

I know she'll settle and it's been a big day for her. She has her old bed with her owners jumpers in.
Wish us luck!

Remove all toys, advice of my trainer. it removes jealousy. As she's been an only dog for all of her life, she may take a long time to settle. Taking them for walks on lead together will help and would be the way I'd introduce an adult dog if I were to take one on, before it became resident. Let her sleep in a different room to the others.

They are better already! She's still a bit ball jealous but we have all sat down now and they are chilled!
We took just her and O/H lab on a walk to check the horses and they have been better since. He's a bit in your face at only 7 months.
Yes they will sleep separately, I've put her bed in another room to our current dogs.

She's so fat, on the plus side age managed the walk really quite well- better than Id expected. I was going to do the short walk but actually we went on a bit further.

And there are still no pictures......It would be great to do before and after once she starts running round with your lot, I'm sure she'll look totally different!

I need to try and suss out this picture business! I'm rubbish!
She's not interested in her food but it's been a long old day and she certainly doesn't need it anyway!
She's actually fairly happy seeming. Her tail wags as soon as you look at her!
Poor girl, must be a shock going from just him and her to just her then to a family with 3 other dogs but I try and give them a fun life so hopefully she will enjoy it with us :)

Good on you for taking her on, I am sure you will all be very happy together and soon it will be like she has always been with you. Pictures are essential!

Back to being all snarly this morning having been separate all night. She's very possessive over her food. Our dogs eat their ration instantly but she keeps and picks at hers. Of course two baby Labradors think that food left in a bowl is fair game.
We are a sofa cushion down, as in back seat cushion not scatter!! (over excited lab)
Things will settle

let her eat alone and put the food down for ten minutes then pick up-remember to to it away or in the bin though, I have had fosters before that have guarded the work surface the bowl is on, the cupboard it is in and even one that guarded the dog food bin. don't give her access to anything to guard.

So pleased you have collected her. Good luck and I am sure you will make rapid progress.
My old dog is a slow feeder and my retrievers eat fast, your young dogs can learn to wait after they have finished theirs without going near her. My flatties lay down with a sigh and watch!

Can you feed her in another room or a crate, she may eat without feeling the need to guard is she isn't being watched. She needs to learn regular meal times whereas she has been used to trickle feed. As above remove food after 10 to 15 mins, also remove all things that can be fought over. My dogs only have toys under my supervision. Saves arguments. They are now allowed nylabone chew toys which they don't argue over. It's a matter of finding out what she regards as 'high value' and removing it. Won't hurt the young dogs not to have their ball for a while.

I have fed her seperatly but once the labs are done they are desperate to get in her room after hers. I will remove and get rid of it after A short while. Thanks for that advice.
They do sit and wait for my little dog to eat his and any left they polish up so it's partly my fault for allowing this.

I didn't allow any toys for the first few days when no 4 came home and fed in different rooms. Toys were returned when it all seemed to have settled but after a walk.
