He'd never gone out the roads until 2 days ago. [See previous post on him from Thursday for his history].
So...I WAS just taking it steady, hand walking him up and down our village lane and then getting up on him and walking up and down there quietly.
Then my plan, like yesterday when I rode him, was to just mooch him quietly up and down our road [quiet 'village' road...but the M4 just on the other side of a slatted fence above you].
With my long term plan, as he's 17.2hhish now, was to have a friend come out hacking with us, on my horse for a safe reliable friend for Barns....
Well, that plan ended up out the window....got bored of going up and down our road, so took him for a hack on his own first thing this morning right round the next 3 villages on from us, down all the main roads, past the pubs, motorway bridges, etc.
Hmm. Kill or cure being my thinking....but I've known him so long, he's as genuine as they come and never does anything to unseat you. He's just a people horse and I trust him with my life anyway. Anyway....he was an angel! He's slightly worried by drains and shadows.....but however not worried by big lorries, loose dogs, flapping signs, bikes, motorbikes, busses, or having to pass cement trucks whirling round!
Dude!
We're just still in walk work for a couple of weeks, I'm bringing him back into work properly and taking my time with him. Got a lady coming out hacking on my horse possibly with him, who's been roughed off this year too and coming back into work, so they're work loads will match up nicely!
They'll be like Stallone and Weathers together
Barns can be the Italian Stallion obviously
He's due for a spa day tomorrow. Mane pulled and trimmed up smarter
Anyway. Pointless piccies! I was on my own...so none of the two of us lol.
And his leg which we nearly lost him to 18 months ago.
Love him!!!
I cannot wait for our first show report post in the future hopefully [Not that I'm planning anything obviously!!!!]
