omg where do I start, first of all I have 8 horses/ponies they range from 6 months to 15 years old. I have travelled these from cornwall, yorkshire, london and many other places. These have been long drives, but never this.

So get to the friesians fillies home at 9.30 this morning, we left home at 6.30 via mac ds, she was in a field with a mare, which is a handful to be caught (oh joy) the filly has not had a headcollar on her for about two months, (not a problem, I have 2 semi ferral dartmoor hill ponies) plus oh is a wizz with them. Old owner wants to load her with other mare which wont load (oh joy) any way, oh and myself lift the filly on the the trailer, as my warmblood was loaded.
My friend john was driving so I told him to drive round with her whilst I sorted out some bits with old owner. In 5 mins the filly had got over the partition, and one leg over the breast bar........ so oh(he is a star) got in the trailer with her we drove about 50 yards and she got over the breast bar again.

so it was decided that oh would travel in the trailer with her ( yes we know this is illegal, but my horse and his horse was in there, I would do this for my kids if need be)

We drove about 15 mile before we hit the m6, (oh in the trailer, me on the mob checking he was ok, god it is sooooo noisey in there)

oh and john swapped before the m1 (john was a star) he has only had horses for about 4 months.
so we got to the yard, safe what should have been 4 to 5 hour trip took 10 hours.

why is nothing easy, oh yes it never is with horses/ponies which is why we love them so much.

so wine and jelly babies if you have read this much.

I just wanna say thank you to my oh, john and my mum and dad for having the kids.
photos of the filly to follow, once I can get her to lead(oh will do that I am sure).

what a day .......................

I did the travel in the trailer thing only yesterday when we collected my filly. I think more people do this than you think. Iam glad I did, as Penny needed me for comfort! Trailers are noisey, but I was lucky and had a smooth trouble free 25 mins journey.
