My youngster is going through his teenage years, and has turned into a complete "Kevin"! On Tuesday I was doing a few jumps with him, when he had a huge bucking fit upon landing over a fence. I eventually came flying off, ricocheting (sp) off the arena fence before splatting on the floor. I got up, and got straight back on, and continued with some easy jumping exercises. He did try bucking again, but I managed to stay on him. It wasn't until I actually got off him I realised my little finger was somewhat sore, so I strapped it up, but was unable to lift wheelbarrows etc. Yesterday I lunged all my horses, but was managing wheelbarrows etc ok. Today I had a couple of lessons on my horses. I knew I would struggle a bit as my hand is strapped up (my little finger can now bend the wrong way
), however as soon as I got on my first horse I realised my back is buggered
. I have a bad back anyway, and I only ride as I assured my surgeon I wouldn't fall off. So with plenty of Ibruprofen I kinda managed, with plenty of breaks (luckily my instructor took pity so didn't push me too hard!). To then add insult to injury I got a massive blister on my middle finger from my reins (my other fingers are strapped together) which then burst, so I had blood pouring down my hand. Then one of the horses wouldn't load, reared up, and just caught me on the leg with one of his hooves
.
So not the best day, I feel it is time for a nice hot bath!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the whinging, it is soooooo annoying, I hate being broken. More lunging for my horses tomorrow I think!!!!!!!!!!!
