Sometimes I wish I didn't have to be right :(

Lame on the same leg so we'll have to go for a work up next week. Brilliant. We're moving them the weekend after next so not sure how that's going to work with the vets as I'm going to have to change vet

I'm bracing myself for months of box rest now. All summer. Typical! Why can't my horses be on box rest over the winter? Little monkeys!

Little sod is sound again today

How on earth are my poor vets going to do a work up on him! Toad.

I'm sure we'll fix him somehow whatever it is. At least he loves it in his box so if it is months of box rest he'll be as happy as larry.

Oh poor you...hope its not too serious.. is he still lame on the lunge?

The vets tend to hammer them a fair bit so they will be able to see the problem I'm sure. The fact he is sound today should be pretty positive.

We had the same problem getting to the bottom of Bob's lameness, sound one day and lame the next, turned out to be his suspensory ligament :(

Fingers crossed for you and BH that all turns out ok:)

We suspected a suspensory branch in the beginning but couldn't investigate as he went sounds and stayed that way. Hopefully he'll stay lame long enough to get some nerve blocks done this time!

There are ways besides nerve blocks to locate the problem. I'm not sure, someone else can probably clarify, but bone scans and thermal imaging spring to mind.

I hate the "go away and make them lamer then come back" approach, by which time you've risked making whatever's wrong worse.

I'm sure Nitty has made whatever is wrong worse by chasing him round the field the moo bag.

I'll give the vets a call Monday. They'll probably be able to make a reasonable guess from what he's doing anyway I expect.
