basically i have taken a deposit on one of my horses, and he is going on a 2 week trial. Now should i do a receipt when i deliver him? saying he's on 2 week trial etc. Do i take full amount at beginning of trial or after they have definetely said yes?

also what info do i put in the receipt?

ive never really sold a horse so as much help as possible please :)

thanks:)
sorry if i dont reply very quick supposed to be working :D

Personally I would be taking the whole amount before the horse leaves me. You just never know what could happen. If the trial doesn't work out you can always refund.

In the receipt you need the horses vital statistics (age, breed, height etc)
Passport number/chip number
Price paid and some details about the trial too I would have thought.

Good luck!

full amount before he goes and write a VERY detailed receipt which you both need to sign and preferably get someone to witness.

also make sure he is insured for the trial.

When i sold my TB mare she went out on trial and we signed something similar to a loan contract saying how long trial was, tack which went with her etc. but she was out on trial for a couple of months.
Recipt for sale or deposit could just have horses details on (description/name), anything that is being sold with him, how much money has been given/recieved and both sign it and both have a copy.
Thats what i did.
