Claire did a night shift last night then a few hours sleep and off to Hartbury in the high wind this morning , bright and early [after riding Penfold and mucking out,I don't know how she does it]
When we got there we thought the arenas looked beautiful with all the flowers in.I went to declare and Claire plaited and groomed him ,as he had been turned out for an hour before we left.
Teffy arrived as she lives a couple of miles from Hartbury and bred him. It was lovely to see her and her MUm.
There was the usual vac. check before you went to warm up and I got worried when they said there was a problem but they weere looking at his strangles jabs [ which of course he no longer has]. He warmed up well and went and did a very nice test .It was a team comp .so we watched another member and went to watch our team doing the show jumping as well. I was introduced to Zebebdee at this point , who was commentating [very well] She is not at all scarey like she is on here sometimes [ she said that not me]
Went back to check scores and Rafi got 73.5% but was half % below winner. Our team also came 10th. So rushed off to tack up again.
She was a bit disappointed to be second as the winner received a rug and silver salva and Horse and Hound were interviewing her, but they must have done a good test. Rafi got 8 8 9 8 for his collectives but a 6 for his free walk [ as he was looking at the tents] and 6 for his half circles.Still she got £25 to spend on NAF products ,which is really nice
So near yet so far, still we are back home and back down that motorway in 10 days for BD champs
