So nice to know there are still some good people around.

On Saturday a couple in the car park at work were loading a skinny lurcher with a bad skin problem into the back of their car and asked me if I knew who owned him as they found him in the road.

Anyway I didn't so they said they would take him to the vets, I asked if they would give him a home and they said they couldn't cos they had two cats. So I said could they let me know how he was. They came back a couple of hours later to say they had taken him home for a warm up and some food and dropped him off at the vets, who confirmed a really bad case of fleas and poor body weight. They thought he was probably abandoned by travellers cos he wasn't a good rabbitter. They also said they were obliged to inform the dog warden.

So the up shot was that this lovely couple got a gurantee from the vet that he wouldn't be PTS and they are paying his vets costs and taking him home with them after all so this lovely chap will have his first spoilt Christmas.

Ah, brilliant, good for them

I would check Doglost to see if it's listed as lost but not necessarily list it as found. Report it to the dogwarden as that's the law or list it with the words 'large vet bill awaits owner!' That'll put off any non genuine rascals

The vet confirmed the dog wasn't micro chipped and I don't know these people's contact details to ask them to put him on the dog lost site. My view is that he is really discarded as he had no collar, chip or anything that responsible pet owners would have.
