No - please don't start talking about, hats, scarfs and coats it all far far to depressing! I can not possibly think about exercise sheets, clipping and thick winter rugs yet! FFS we haven't even had summer yet - just a few random days when the sun may poke its head out for a little bit!!!

**runs of to burry head in sand its nearly the end of August**

Oooh me and my hubby were just talking about the onset of autumn - as I have to go back to work tomorrow after the summer hols. We love getting snug in front of the fire and going out on crisp cold mornings all wrapped up - he goes shooting and I go riding then we meet up later for hot food and get snug in our own little bear cave!

I'm just annoyed that my horse has skived off work all summer and NOW she decides she wants to be sound enough to come back into work... right before the clocks change is when I'll be allowed to sit on her, meaning she'll have two months in hand every day then when I sit on her it'll be only weekends! My horse has some seriously bad timing there!
I can't wait as hopefully soon I shall have a job, can start horsey shopping, and buy a horse I can wrap up in snuggly winter rugs (my favourite bit of winter is seeing them out on a snowy/frosty morning wrapped up warm - maybe I'll even be out hunting this winter... possibly...

No I'm not looking forward to it. Dark spooky evenings, not being able to see her everyday, mud, horrible mucky wet rugs, her dropping weight and the prospect of clipping my horse that loathes the dentist for the first time, god knows what she will do. Boo hoo.

I don't ride much now but my favourite time was Autumn the very first day out on a newly clipped horse.
There is something about the swan that emerges from the hairy coat and the sight of those sharp clipped ears in front of you that always made me happy.
Give us a break though, we haven't had a summer yet!! September could well be wonderful, don't wish Autumn here just yet...
