Had the beast 5 weeks now and so far have taken everything slowly with her as she's only a baby and not done much. We've spend the last month playing in the school, flatwork, lunging and pole work.

Tonight I was brave and did something new lol. Took her in to the massive open field on her own. Only been in the school so far. She was so good. Walk trot and cantered both reins beautifully! There are dressage boards and sj's in the field and she didn't batter an eye lid. Popped a couple of cross poles then a couple of other horses came in the field and again she didn't batter an eye lid. Schooled really well with them in there. Only slight almost mishap was when I nearly came off jumping. I think she is destined to be a showjumper. She jumps with alot of air. Not like a green horse or cat leaping, just jumps big *laughs out loud*! She almost unseated me, I landed a bit heavy and she rushed forwards a few strides. Popped it again a few times, still big just no mishaps *laughs out loud*.

Then I left the big field and other horses behind and took her for a hack around the farm around big open hay fields, pasted lots of parked tractors ect. She was so good! Went past everything with minimal encouragement.

This is me right now

So far she really hasn't put a foot wrong. Had a good lesson at the yard last week, instructor (new to me) really liked her and she worked well. Loading practise tomorrow then thursday we are off 30 mins up the road for a dressage clinic. First dressage comp on the 6th of September.

I know some will think I'm taking it too slowly but shes only gone 5 and would rater her be happy about everything. There's no hurry, hopefully she will be with me a long time!

Really pleased with how brave and well behaved she is!

On picture of her after being sponged down! Not the most flattering picture!
