Soso pleased with him. He had a visit from the farrier today, as hooves were severely overgrown.was expecting him to be nervy at the least; he's seen the farrier once before (our farrier thinks 5 months ago) and before that, a very bad DIY job with mismatching shoes at a year old. But he pleasantly surprised me by standing still for his front feed. Bit unsure for the first hind to be done, but once he'd figured out how to balance, was good as gold.
Had a fair bit of trouble persuading him to walk past the donkey this morning. She was out in her field today, and it was ge first time he'dd really seen her. Got him past eventually, and will be taking him around to pass her more often. She'a the first thing he's spooked at since he arrived, hasn'tt made a fuss about the cows or machinery.
He's also fabulous at coming when I call. First 3 days we rattled feed, but now he happily comes over to see me, whether I have anythibg or not.
Farrier and the YM, other livery and her part loaner have all said that he's the calmest and most level natured 2 year old they've seen.
Really gappy with him so far. He's so well behaved and quuickly got used to the hose on his legs (for farrier) and pretty much everything else. No trouble in adapting from 24/7 turn out to stabled in thd evening. Live my boy.
