So after spending most of Sunday putting up the blessed things (including an emergency trip to B&Q via Aldi to check out the horsey selection) I managed to attach them to my stables! My gelding wouldn't go near it at first but soon came round after it was filled with hay. Very pleased with it, their beds were so much tidier yesterday and my mare hadn't managed to wee all over her hay. Success!

Please noone say they've ever had one ripped off the wall? I'm scared my mare will scratch her a*** on it and pull it off!

I would think the likelihood of them being pulled off the wall would depend on the type of wall and the fixing used to attach. You can get some seriously heavy duty fixings that should stand up to a fair bit of abuse I would think. If you have wooden stables, the wood may well give way before the fixing of course...!

Local builders' merchants are very good for advising and procuring heavy-duty stuff, better than the likes of B&Q IME.

Yeah, I used fixings where you put a plug into the wall then screw a long screw into them. I think if he pulls it off again I'll admit defeat and very nicely ask the yard joiner if he'll put it on :)
