Took my ex racer to his first show today, in hand ex race horse, was a bit concerned on how he would react.
Anyway after plaiting him up (plaits were not great as hadnt done it in over 20 years) we set out for the show getting there early to make sure all was ok and he would be calm by the time our class started, got there about an hour early and he was like oh ok lots of horses about which is nice but can I eat the grass, he was so chilled.
Went into our class and he was an angel, the only down side is he is 17hh I am 5'3" so could do with a couple of inches added to the length of my legs to keep up with him. He came 2nd yippee oh so proud.
I also had a 2nd with my shettie yesterday who was also brill, so has turned out to be a great weekend for me and my boys. Big smiles all round.
Just have to try and sort myself for the ridden ex race horse class in July now.
