Jerry's been clipped :D
We gave him Sedalin to take the edge off and he had no problems letting us know when he wasn't happy (he nearly caught Dad a few times  ) but we managed to clip him out and do his legs. It took a while but we persevered and Jerry calmed down even more as he got used to the clippers.

Sorry, but I'm so happy I wanted to share. I never thought we'd be able to clip him without him fighting and having to be sedated by injection. :o

It's not the neatest clip (we wanted to get it done as quickly as possible and it's only the second time my Dad's clipped a horse) but he doesn't look like a yak anymore so I don't really mind. We need to work on getting up the inside of his back legs.

Here's a pic :)

Very smart! What a good lad :) he sounds like my lad, we used to have to get vet out to sedate him, but can now get him done with some sedalin & a bucket of carrots (as long as we're quick!!) xx

Great, well done you! You make me feel better. I still need to get vet to sedate my boy at the moment, but hoping to down grade to sedalin soon!

jerry used to be like that. to be fair to him, the first time he was clipped was last year (he was 21) and the yard clippers are really loud.
you couldn't go anywhere near him with them on.

we invested in a set of aesculop cordless clippers. they're half paid for already (we've done two full clips and a trace clip) and the horses barely notice they're on. worth the money :)
