Well little SWUO excelled herself yesterday and got loads of hugs and kisses in the process

When JAK first got SWUO she'd had very little done with her, and had, as far as I'm aware, never been ridden. JAK's kids had done a great job with her and had managed to sit on her a few times, although at one point or another SWUO had objected rather strongly and bucked them off

Well yesterday she was a little star. With it being such a gorgeous day we were able to spend some quality time with her which she seemed to enjoy...then as she was being so good we decided to sit Pops on her and see how she was....and she couldn't have behaved any better if she tried. She stood like a rock whilst we lifted Pops up onto her back...didn't object when Pops got abit too excited and started screaming as loud as he could

and calmly walked forward a few steps when we asked her to. For SWUO this was a major achievement, something that wasn't possible when she first got here as she was too nervous. Since then we've taken sometime to lean over her and pat her sides where little legs would rest against her, and just rest our weight on her back, all without much of a problem, so yesterday was time to see if we had made any progress.

Can't tell you how proud of her we were...she got SOOO many kisses she's probably sick of us all by now, and she got a parting snuggle from a very happy little Pops too

This post is very self indulgent...and you know what? I couldn't give a damn

I am so pleased firstly that you have achieved this and secondly that she has such a good home.

She and Cob Blob are my favs and had I been in a position to take on another pony would have had either like a shot.

Well it's no good just telling us about this.........We need to see some photo's

I'm so pleased to hear she's being a little star and may that halo never slip

It is wonderful to read this. SWO (notice no U!) is obviously feeling secure with you, which says so much about you.
JAK will no doubt be delighted to hear this too.
I wonder how she is, and her girls?
However, well done you. It's a wonderful achievement.

Aww, thanks Theresa

To be honest, as long as she's happy we'll continue trying her with Pops and just take it as we find it. If she doesn't like it then we'll just have fun playing games with her....she loves chasing my daughter round the field, and as soon as the weather is consistently better we'll teach her to longrein and get some cones/poles etc so we can set a 'course' for her to have abit of fun with. Think handy pony but unmounted

We'd also love to take her to a few shows for the young handler classes which daughter is dying to do. Had a little practice run up yesterday and apart from spying a blade of grass that obviously looked just too tempting to ignore

she was a very good girl

Think we'll have to change the 'useless' to 'useful'

I'm just happy that she's happy being with us. Was very worried that she'd pine given that her coming here was the first time she'd been off that yard her whole life, apart from a show or two as a baby
