Not been on in a while, but sat here staring at three giant rosettes (only local show ones!).

So proud of my girl, took her to our first show (not individually, but together!) and she got a 6th out of 14 inhand showing, 2nd out of 10 best mare, and 3rd out of 4 hunter.

Pointless post but so so proud of her!! :D

Massive well done! That's what it's all about - getting out there and enjoying yourself. I love looking at my rosettes - still have every one I've ever got over the years - they all tell a story. :) x

Thankyou so much! :)

I had about 200 from my old pony but they got eaten by a mouse when my mum left them in a box in a garage when I was at uni! I salvaged some intact, some in half tact, and others that are just threads. Some are missing completely. I actually sobbed when I saw them!! (My old boy died in 1999).:(

well done! pictures please!

Would love to but I don't like putting pics on the internet. Just so proud, it's 15 years since I was in a show, with my old boy who died in 1999. She is my first horse since him (11 yr break) and I can't believe how well she did for me - she isn't papered and as far as I am aware only did one show before I got her. I know it sounds silly but I am beaming from ear to ear looking at her rosettes next to my old boy's rosettes (albeit they are slightly dishevelled and chewed by the mouse!)

Oh WOW ! Well Done ! :D

No wonder you are so proud and beaming from ear to ear !
Isn't it a great feeling ?
My 3 year old got two 1sts and two 2nds on Sunday on her first time out at a local show, so I'm sitting here beaming too ! :D

Ahh fantastic!! Very well done!! It is a great feeling. I just wanted to get one rosette ever with her to put next to my old boy's rosettes and trophies (just so she didn't feel left out ;) ).

Sounds like your girl is a star in the making! :)

Well done you. :D Glad you had a nice time, that is after all what it's all about. I took the horrid one showjumping the other weekend and we came third, I was so proud of him esp as I didn't ride him very well at all. Some people outside the ring commented how I had the biggest smile in there. Even bigger than the girl who won the class, She didn't even pat her pony :(
When I took Merryn to our first show together we didn't get placed, (infact we came stone dead last) But I didn't care he still got a great big pat as he had been a star and behaved so well. (He's 10 and only went to about two shows as a youngster)
I wish more people where like us. It's all about winning to most these days, well most round here anyway :(

LittleWildOne well done to you to, sounds like you have a star in the making there :)

Aww you sound like a lovely horse owner! :D And I doubt very much that you didn't ride him very well at all! A good rider makes a horse!

I hate it when I see people at shows who only fuss their well behaved horse when they win. My girl got smothered with kisses and cuddles just for coming 6th out of 14! She was such a good girl she deserved it, and in my eyes she is better than any other horse there!

Aww thanks. I have had a few snide remarks from people I know since because I didn't ride her at the show (first time out at a show together and I just wanted to do inhand anyway). Cheers me up to have people actually share the pleasure of what I consider to be a really good day out and in my eyes a fab result!:)

Hey ! Who cares that you didn't ride her ?
You both had a brilliant day together and that's all that matters isn't it ?
Anyone making snide remarks....is just childish and jealous so ignore them and look forward to many more happy times together. :)

Thanks for the lovely replies about MY baby :D:D:D
