hi guys. Well, for someone who can dish out advice, My own confidence riding is shocking. I break horses, no problem, will do all the ground work, and have a guy that does the riding, but I have had a breakthrough. xx I actually rode my own horse the other day. Actually, My kids shamed me into it. My excuse all along was that he was young and green and i might upset him, but my 11 yr old son and 8 yr old daughter rode him last weekend, so I bit the bullet and rode him on wednesday, just walked and trotted, but such a milestone for me. He was born quiet and I knew that, but the bubble in my head that stopped me has finally being burst. I'm delighted. There should be pics to follow, If i get someone to take them. xx

Fantastic news and you should be proud, I had similar confidence issues following a nasty fall but I tried to carry on, only for my mare to then have a nasty accident which for a while made her dangerous to ride... Eventually I sourced the problem and got her fixed and although she was foot perfect after that, I couldn't face it... I'd been ditched so many times. It took a lot to get back on, and I never rode without a back protector... The bp was like my superman pants, and made me feel like I could deal with anything. It was a good six months before I felt able to canter and honestly never thought I would, but one day I just automatically asked for it, no thought or nerves involved and I felt like I was flying I was soaring with pride for both of us. So I get exactly where you've been (have done the breakdown thing too) x Well done you x

Would love to see the pics:)

Popeyesno1fan and Queenbee - Both your stories are brilliant :) I'm currently in a confidence crisis and I doubting I'll ever get back in the saddle. But the more of these success stories I see on here the more hope I get :)
