To do home visits with nice polite children

I hate kids, but I do give the benefit of the doubt and drag my feet out to home visit with the little sh!ts...I mean angels

I dropped Tillie off at her home today, the little girl proceeded to place news paper down for her and the little boy followed her out to the garden with a pooh bag, and they asked me loads of questions on how best to look after her
smile.gif
they where 9 and 11......I felt so pleased, they also went and brought her a big teddy sibling in and she was running around with it in her gob and banging into everything cos she could not see, and the little girl got upset that she had bought a teddy that was too big (bless) I told her it was fine and hillarious to watch her to to carry the teddy

Also a little boy, msut have been 3 in a home where I placed another spaniel asked me when I was leaving "who will look after our baby when we go on holiday"
laugh.gif
the mam said "we are not going on hols till August", the little boy said "yeah but I want him looked after properly so I would like to get it sorted out now", we all laughed our backs off

See some rescues do rehome to GOOD kids

I grudgingly agree with you C. I am not in the least bit interested in kids until they are 18 and can buy me a drink!! My nieces have many faults but they always take time out to walk their 2 dogs and go home at lunchtime to let them out and give them a run.

It is indeed refreshing!

Colleen's boys are SO good with B, but another friend's kid threw chocolate to Bella after I told her it was bad for dogs!!!
And there are one couple who's delightful children I found throwing STONES at them and laughing.
I've told my ma when they are visiting, if the kids go within a certain radius of the house/dog runs, I will not be held responsible for my actions....

A naughty little fecker
and A waste of good air

Like everything else its the way the little dears are brought up round animal isn't it. The one thing that really gets me is when people say "Oh our dog is so good, he lets the kids pull his ears/tail etc and never complains". Why would anyone think its okay for kids to do that to a dog.

While I was in Pets at Home today I saw a little girl whisper something to her mum, then she came up to me and said "Miss, may I please stroke your dog if he is friendly please?".

Even I, loather and phobic of children, was impressed (especially with the double please

) and thought it very sweet. She got a Daxy-cuddle for her troubles.

All other children are scrotebags, don't try and persuade me otherwise.

Pmsl this post made me smile!

The general rule I take when prospective puppy owners come here is if they can't control the kids then they can't control a puppy. I have been known to tell them that too often slightly less politely.
I'm not a great kid lover but I have to say I really really like selling pups to homes with nice kids. When they come in here and ask politely if they are allowed in the room with the puppies and then sit on the floor in the puppy pen without interferring or prodding or pulling or hauling or being loud etc. just sitting quietly and watching them. Then asking politely if they can cuddle one and when told yes asking the best way and sitting quietly stroking one on their laps. It's fab! Any child that dares to run in picking my puppies up and hauling them about is very swiftly removed along with their parents.
I love the excitement and the smiles on their faces when they come to pick their new family member up as well. There are some great kids out there
