so sad-4yo boy crushed by stumbling horse

I really don't think you can recover, maybe somehow in time you learn to deal with it, and I think it's a lesson to us all to be on our guard cos they are more experienced with horses than most, and yet something happened.

The farmer who has the neighbouring land to us was there at the time - just coincidentally visiting his friends. He was very shocked, he stopped while I was doing the horses a couple of days ago and just wanted to chat about it, I think to help him understand a bit about how random things can happen around horses. Such a sad accident :(

It is so sad and just a reminder how easily things go wrong.
The other day my horse was hooning in the arena and a young girl decided to sit by the fence- i had to tell her to move (her mother was aware but not bothered) incase he kicked out and his leg went through the fence.
my heart goes out to the family-im not sure you would ever move on from it.

It's awful. I bought our Shetland pony from a girl who works on his yard, we are still in touch, everyone is just completely numb and so shocked.
Can't possibly even begin to imagine what they are all going through.

God your heart just breaks for them - what a dreadful tragedy. Makes you think - my niece and nephew have been around my horses since they were tots and I trust my horses completely, they're very gentle with the kids. You just can't account for something like this

So sad :-(
