I just love hacking Miss F out, she is such a safe horse on the roads. She was at Arena UK yesterday at Adv Med, did a lovely test but was middling, (even at Petplan the horses are big and flashy ). I hacked out in her double bridle as when she's sold I'll be hacking Mr D, who can have the odd spook but is better in a double. I was pleased to find that I got used to it pretty quickly. If I knew that Rose wasn't going to come back into work and I was a bit younger, I would be very tempted to buy her for myself but I'm sure she will find a great home as she'll pop a decent fence (got a decent BE record and is the perfect grassroots horse) has competed up to PSG with good scores and is just a delight in every way but owner has too many horses to ride and one needs to be sold so feeling rather sad.

So sorry for you as you were just building up a rapport with her, hoping she gets a lovely home, also hoping you can maybe pick up another extra catch ride x

I'm still riding the gelding and will hack him out instead but I'd love to help Miss F find the right home. She's home bred by the same stallion as Rose and she will make someone very happy. She's 10 now, I think and I've known her since she was born. They don't want silly money either as the home is very important to them.

I'm 73 in December and have a horse currently turned away with an injury. She may or may not come back into work. I developed a heart condition in 2020 and had someone else competing my horse as I couldn't ride at all and although I'm much better than I was, sadly my competing days are over as I'm just not fit enough. I get very tired and it's time to be sensible I'm afraid. Oh to be even 10 years younger!

i know the feeling oldie48, i gave up my loan horse 2 years ago when i was 73 and would love to have the energy i had when i was younger and not have arthritis in every joint that has to be used mucking out etc....getting older stinks :(

Still feel it's better than the alternative though! I'm really enjoying schooling and having lessons on Mr D as i can do it at my own pace and I've been hacking Miss F as she's really safe to hack and it helps her owner out but I do understand that they want to sell her if they can find the right home. I'm posting a pic in case someone is looking for a nice horse!
edit oops, can't seem to do it!

Sorry meant to say buy not but. Wow you look great, horse is lovely too I'm sure she'll find a lovely home.
I can't imagine having anything to do with horses (as in owning) when I'm in my 70's, so respect.

Hi I’m looking for a horse to give a forever home and continue my dressage journey. I’ve been fortunate enough to be taught by a GP trained schoolmaster who is now getting on a bit but so it’s time to find a new partner. Please pm me.
