Rather gushing proud parent post lol but don't know many other parents that have mini's who ride.
Long story short minis pony has been a bit out of sorts lately due to discomfort from losing winter coat, she is really really itchy .. We have de'louced her, long grooming sessions and regular osmidex baths.. She has been quite cranky and not an easy ride at times ( all usual checks have been done ) today I was bathing her again so Mini me took a new rs pony on her lesson, pony is 13 but super green but very sweet. To say I am proud is an understatement, mini is only 7 .. Pony about 13.2 ... Didn't like standing still, mini gave pony her head and kept patting her, got worried when lead horse went off but mini reassured her, pony up to today didn't get trot to canter aids but after first two attempts at a canter she was flying.. And it gets better than that, pony wouldn't be used to coloured poles , v small crosspole about 50 cms, pony backed off and ranout at first attempt, mini got herself together and kept coming in trot initially reassuring the pony the whole way and massive pats after every jump, they finished lesson by cantering over the fence...
Instructor and yard owner and myself were so so impressed...
Was hilarious at end , when Mini got off pony kept nudging her while leading her back to stable, was so sweet to watch.
Instructor told her at end she had schooled and taught the pony throughout the lesson...
Not bad for 7 yes old lol, proves to me how much having her pony has brought her on...
Totally pointless gushing post but super proud.

Ah thank you, I will admit I did nearly shed a tear .. She was naturally just so empathetic with the pony .... I really think now it just comes natural to her. She also made sure pony got a couple of treats after ... [AQUOTE=OldNag;12403101]What a lovely post. You have every right to be proud :-)[/QUOTE]

That's amazing. My little girl has totally lost interest so reading posts like yours give me a vicarious buzz !! My little boy just has it with animals and it gets me every time. He is only just 2 but is so calm and patient and gentle around them, the rest of the time he is a whirlwind on legs. My other two are good and well behaved with them but he has something different. It is quite awe inspiring - sounds like your girl is the same.
