My nine year old son and 5 year old daughter started riding lessons in the riding school where I learned when i was a child 3 months ago. THey had their weekly lesson today, and Shauna can now trot on "Ziggy", an old but lively little pony all by herself, and Patrick can sit in canter and was jumping 60cms today. i videoed it on my phone and I cant stop looking at it. I'm so chuffed that they both love it and are doing so well. I think I'm turning into one of "those" mothers. Aghhh!!!!!!

Every time I see my kids ride I can't help but fill up, I'm so proud of them! :o

However... soon the eldest (9) will be riding so much better than I ever did  :D

Thank you, my son, Patrick will be much better than I will soon too, was given the chance to get the riding school pony that he rides for free today, as he's old and being retired, but by no means fecked either. he's a lovely pony, but i think at 28, and 25 years in the riding school, he mightn't adjust too well. He's a very lively pony once you take him out of the arena, and if i take him on, he will be going to the horsey heaven in the sky at some time in the near future, and will probably break patricks heart. dont know what to do, as i could ride him too, so he wouldnt be too mad. It sounds mad talking about a pony that old like that, but he's still in really good form, and loves nothing more than a good gallop with jumps. Why do people make ME make these kind of decisions!!
