His third eyelid is really red and his eye was a bit weepy but not obviously infected. It was probably as a result of....
a) chasing the cat and generally harassing him (finally got swiped by peeved moggy)
b) got scratched while crashing through hedges/chasing sticks in the brook
Or
c) continually getting smacked in the face by an overenthusiastic wagging labrador tail.....
Anyhoo after a good look there is nonsign of foreign bodies, scratches or glaucoma or anything else
While we were there the nice vet(she kept giving him treats so it St Sweeps new best friend
) gave him a thorough old farts check up and pronounced him fit and healthy with nothing to worry about

And the eye drops have cost me £54........

- still am secretly relieved there is nothing more wrong with him than a little infection even if it means beans on toast again....

The vet did comment on his love handles - how very dare she!
