So..tell me about Staffies!

I LOVE my staffords and beg to differ about the agility. I see a lot of staffords doing this - and if you want an excellent example, have a look at the lovely Ali Taylor from Battersea with her Battersea stafford bitch - Squirt. Battersea even have a staffie agility team. I have never known a lazy one actually. The ones who don't require much exercise tend to be much older dogs who have never been properly walked etc but even then, when fitter, they are as up for their walks as any much younger dog. Staffords are thin coated (think almost naked tummies) the dogs are invariably higher energy than the bitches, they are complete cuddle monsters and yes, they don't show themselves off well in kennels as they stress very badly under those circumstances. Another place to look at would Stafford Welfare which has branches all over the UK. Excellent guard dogs , very sociable, bright and energetic. Post pictures of the new boy when you have decided to bring him home! My 3 come to the pub, to events, to training and the yard...
 
Thanks guys. We were going out to have a look tonight but our car is stuck on our road along with everyone elses! Hopefully tomorrow we can get it off when I find something to get the tires to grip.

I'm very glad that you've persuaded me to go and have a look at least! I'm quite prepared to put the work in and do some fun stuff with him. I do miss greyhounds but I don't think I could have one just now, too soon and raw but life is empty without a dog sat on my knee..
Doesn't have to be serious agility (i'm too unfit for that :P!) but just a potter around now and then and fun things. And something that is loyal and doesn't roll his eyes at me like Scoobs used to.

Staffords rehome extremely well, they have their little paws firmly tucked under your table in no time at all. I have rehomed 4 and every single one walked into my house, scooted around and decided they were home. In less than a day! With no 2 I had introduced him to my older bitch on neutral territory twice, she let him get in her car and on the day, they met up,again on neutral territory with no problems and then I ran them ragged for the day and wore them out. No 3 was so submissive that once past the early introductions it was really easy. Shout if you need any help but you won't have a dog rolling his eyes at you, you will have a dog who thinks you are the very best person in the world!

Oh and look about reducing your tyre pressure to get your car moving, it worked for a staff member who had a very small car and needed to get to the yard..
 
We have a staffy cross, daft as a brush, very loyal and playful, we call him Barney the braindead
