I posted about selling my horse after a relationship break down, finances weren't good and still aren't. But my friend has asked me about buying him. I'm sad but more then happy because he'd have a great home with her. I haven't even bothered selling him with a price because home is way more important then price to me. She'll look after him better then anyone.

So a sad but happy mood :)

after the many many posts from those a few years down the line from your situation.... I would reccomend - for you and your friend to draw up a 'sale' receipt - even for only £1. It seems to be hindsight for many that they wished that they had done.

I am sorry to hear your having troubles. I hope the light and the end of the tunnel is near.

I've just had to sell my daughter's pony, totally broke my heart, but daughter wasn't keen on riding and funds were tight too so it was the right thing to do. Pony now has a lovely new home, was sold for just enough to cover the cost of her tack and I've had to accept that I did the best i could for her. It's heartbreaking but it's all we can do. At least you'll know your friend will look after and love your horse and that you did your best. Big hugs. xx

Thanks everyone. I considered putting him up on the market but I always said if the right person approached me about buying him that price does not
Matter. He will be more then looked after with my friend as I have seen how she is with her own. So I'm happy for him :)

Money isn't important in these situation, though I do think you should give your friend a receipt just to safeguard her in the future. This is the best possible solution for you. Hopefully it won't be too long before you can get back on track.

I'm giving her a receipt just so everything is above and aboard. She's not looking to loan. But I'm happy not to have the worry, what with all the other things that keeps poking on me.

If i met you i would shake your hand , cos for me you've done the most selfless thing for your horse , thought about his welfare before money , i'm so glad he's got a home with your friend , one less thing for you to worry about as well...
