Ouch, met the floor again at speed before I wanted too. Think I'm too old for this. Someone tell me there are still horses out there that like to keep hold of you. :D The mare did quite an impressive, back hump rodeo impression. My trousers are now full of sand.

owwww! Poor you. Yes, I have now graduated to the kind of horse (saint!) who tries to keep me in the saddle come what may! Bless him. I think he was the Dalai Lama in a former life.

Yeah, I found this out the hard way this year too. I was going on a 3 hour car journey and went to do ponies first. Decided to have a quick ride bareback beforehand and all was going well until horse spooked and leapt sideways, que me landing on my back and winded.
What a great valentines weekend that was - I could barely move for the ouchies.

Hope your not too sore.

Yes unfortunately I rediscovered the ground recently too, much to my dismay. "Three broncs and you're out" my horse evidently decided.

I'm far too old for that kind of caper, and whereas I landed ok and didn't injure myself, I was acutely aware of the fall the next day as I gradually seized up!

I don't plan on doing it again (horse on rehab so neither should he)!

Sadly it is :( I discovered sand & rubber can be incredibly hard, especially when my youngster decided to do the rodeo hump bronc after a small X pole and fired me headfirst into the ground, i was very stiff & sore the next day, with a terrible headache and had to buy a new riding hat to boot :(

Ouch poor you

I was in similar position 18 months ago after my WB deliberately catapulted me over his head into the sand for the 3rd time in a month. Final straw. I sold him at a great loss to a pro.

I now have the most amaZing Welsh Cob chestnut mare.
She is so sweet, loving, gentle yet fun, forward going and incredibly talented to boot

She does a fab novice test. Starting to work at elementary. Jumps 1. 15m with scope
Does well at county level showing.

She is as safe as any fun horse can be

I was ok if I kept moving, my back did seize up in bed, i wasn't sure how I was going to get out unless someone rolled me out! This mare is a warmblood too, far more exuberance than I need now I think :D
