You know how once in a while it feels like nothing is going right and life is throwing every possible scrap of bad luck it could find in your direction?
i haven't seen the OH since i changed jobs a month ago, had to work all over christmas and new year (work in hotels), the car broke down and when i fixed it, then the accelerator cable snaps at four in the morning miles away from anywhere!
the horse develops a swelling all around his girth area (what do girth galls look like anyway?) have had a chest infection for well over a month but have to keep working anyway. horse then goes lame, OH falls sick over three of the almost five days we have together, occasional-help girl lets me down last minute (2330hrs the night before she's due to work),
now have to get up at 4am the day we're having 'christmas' to drive to horse (oh well, i guess it's what we 'sign up' for when we get these horses!
horse gets sound - at last things are looking up!
then say goodbye to OH as he goes back to work today (have no idea when i'll see him next
)
so, ride horse this afternoon, (he's had 2 days off) when my leg isn't even half way over the saddle he starts a bucking bronco, his saddle was fitted barely three months ago and he hasn't changed shape that much, his back was checked a month ago so i'm fairly certain he was just throwing all his teddies out of the pram for some obscure reason
half way down the drive and he's having a complete fit over a christmas tree, oh god help me, we evntually get passed it by careering off down the drive toward the road at the bottom filled with small people leaving school with umbrellas - why today????
we then get followed (quite closely) by a rather large dog, yet another hissy-fit!
i had planned a mixed ride containing a bit of everything for today but decided maybe just a trip around the block at whatever pace he felt happy with was probably in order.
by the ime he had nearly put me down a drain, in a stream, under a lorry, and on top of several cars i was beginning to get a bit fed up and was soaking wet.
eventually got home, just about in one piece, untacked, de-booted and the little toe rag bit me!
i was fuming! only just managed to hold my temper but told him in a very definate tone if he tried it again i'd launch him halfway to hong-kong!
and then, i sat down in the corner of my stable and burst into tears. too many little things have been thrown my way in the last couple of weeks and i've had enough!!
well done if you've made it this far, sorry for whinging. in need of hugs and some good luck for a while (maybe i'll start forwarding all those really annoying 'you'll get bad luck if you don't forward me' e-mails i get sent.
*goes to get large glass of wine* onward and upward, back to work 6am tomorrow!
