So unbelievably angry...on news last night

At a hunt meet in Essex at the weekend 15 antis turned up and attacked the meet, spraying an 8 year old girl in the face and trashing the members' cars.

I'm not really pro- or anti- hunting (more pro than anything really) but this is disgusting by anyone's standards. That poor girl probably didn't think about the rights and wrongs of hunting she just wanted a great day out with her pony.

See the NELS site where they laugh at a little girl falling off her horse. And the nonchalent way they report one of their number getting nicked for being 'tooled up'.

These people have no interest in debate or the issues. They just want to cause trouble.

They thrive off it.

Nels are very helpful in telling us exactly what they have done, though I think their area must be the most intensively sabbed of anywhere outside Sussex now. and even so, remember that for every day they are with one pack, there are another 6 or 7 in their area that haven't got sabs.

Also, can anyone explain why every Nels report starts with the words: "So it was Saturday [date]"? I just find it a bit odd, that's all...

NELS is a good resource for studies of anti psychology.

I got a great response on the message board. Which was basically 'why should I listen to you?' followed by a command to stop posting. All pros are cruel evil sadists so of course they should be ignored.

It's great to see how open minded these people are.

That photo on NELS of the fall is horrible, and the faller went team chasing the week before and went clear!

NELs, for all their self satisfied above the law pontificating are terrorists. They have always enjoyed seeing falls, especially children, and have also surrounded children to intimidate them if they get seperated from the main body of the field.

(Sits back and awaits Endymion to say that they are law abiding peaceful bods whos only concern is wild animals.)

just looked at that website - showing that pic is awful looks lik a nasty fall poor girl - and their swearing and aggressive commentary makes them come across as mindless thugs. perhaps they should consider that, if they want more people to support them and be "on their side" maybe they should calm themselves down. calling people f***wits & hunt scum doesnt exactly encourage me to consider their point of view!! it makes me think what a bunch of a-holes !!!!

It's not politics Rosie. NELS and those like them are just thugs. They just want to stir up trouble.

The truth is they LOVE hunting. They thrive off it. If it wasn't for hunting they'd never get out into the countryside but would be stuck in their bedsits spooning down the methadone.

Yes I do understand what you are saying, I adore picking fights with my sister, my evenings would not be the same without them. I quite enjoy laughing at sabs though, dont enjoy their violence to the innocent, but I do love watching them get so riled and angry, our last huntsman ran them a merry dance regularly, they used to beocme livid with him.

This lovely lot are the same ones who we have to deal with too. I have seen then spray into the faces of hounds and laugh when the hounds are blinded and distressed.

they really are the scummiest lowlife I have ever met. Did you know that most of the people out with them as 'extras' are actually being paid for their time (think it is £25) from the money donations that the anti hunting public give to help with the animal welfare.

...but I know for a fact that girl took a fall as she jumped a fence and not because sabs spooked it.

....and I also know this hunt has a huge history of violence with a certain terrierman who should be in Borstal by now and a huntmaster with a violent criminal record, 3 accounts of violent assualt isn't it? and the criminal damage was dropped on one in exchange for a guilty plea.

Come then pro's.....where's the outcry against violence now?

It's actually the other way around, once everyone has chipped in for fuel and other expenses it can end up costing the sab a few quid.

Also hounds never get blinded. The substance in the bottles is a harmless scent used to mask the smell of the fox, not acid or any other crazy invention.

Thistle, I would just like you to know that I strongly oppose violence of any kind from anyone. I was not there when these incidents happened but I know the rider fell of her horse jumping a fence and that it was nothing to do with sabs. I am always highly distrusting of the Essex hunt having had many nasty experiences at their hands. I do believe after all, that it is they who have the criminal records for violence against protestors and not the other way around.

I do not hunt with the Essex, I go with another NELS sabbed hunt.

Tell me, spray citronella in your eyes and up your nose and see how it feels!

Then bear in mind that it is the hounds sensitive nose that finds his way around in strange surroundings.

My daughter (then aged 12) has been sworn at and spat at, also had NELS jumping out infront of her and her pony.

When a number of your group were arrested(for causing criminal damage to a farmers crops stored in a barn, by spraying citronella all over them) one day with us 2 of the girls hardly spoke english and didn't really know what they were doing, or why. They said they were only there for the cash!
