I was walking my mum's Yorkie x toy poodle girls in the woods near her house yesterday, all lovely apart from a puddle going over my ankle wellies, ?. Had put them back on their leads as I could hear dogs barking up ahead and just as I left the woods and joined the path back into the park a German Shepard and a Terrier type came charging down the slope and went for the girls. One is really small and the Shepard picked her up in its mouth, I booted it and it let go, the woman with them did nothing to help apart from scream and the man did nothing at all. I was in shock and so angry! I shouted at the stupid woman, took a picture of her dogs and got her name which I have reported to the council. Why oh why can people not be more responsible ???

Thank you. My mum is in her 70's and had a plate in her ankle so walking long distances is not easy for her, which is why I walk them 4 times a week, mum took them round the block twice today and didn't see any other dogs so they where okay, I will take them to the park tomorrow and see how she is. I will take lots of treats for them and hope for the best ?

It's a dreadful thing to happen and I do feel for you. It's very upsetting and unnerving at the time.

You did the right thing but don't let it affect the way you walk the dogs in the future. What I'm saying is, your dogs will move on so you have to.

As for the other owner(s)...................

Well, let's face it, this probably happens on a regular basis for them and it's probably not the first time but basically they don't give a damn unless of course one of their dogs got attacked in retaliation, then there would probably be all hell to pay!

To be honest, owners like this is one of the reasons I try to avoid public areas with my dogs these days and stick to on-lead walks on the pavements. None of my dogs need masses of exercise so it suits us all.
