so what are you doing with your yearlings this summer? Just wondering, mine will be with other mares and gelding in fields. Just keeping her handled and leading, also might mouth her if I take to in hand shows.

Turning out with my mare and foal, maybe one or two local shows for experience if she ever looks right.

With some obvious exceptions, this kind of thing a few times a week :

They still get 23.5 hours to be babies.

Exactly! Though perhaps not as extreme as the Americans!

Mine are walking over plastic, over a plywood see-saw, onto a pallet, being groomed, having their feet lifted, walking into the trailer, etc. Of course, their joints are destroyed and they are completely neurotic having been terrorised by vicious dogs....:eek::eek:

Took mine for a walk to my schooling area yesterday and we did the ditch, stepped over poles, stepped over some raised poles, trotting in hand etc. I will probably take her to gawp at the road, put a surcingle and nummnah on her, possibly mouth her, more ditch practice and more poles throughout the summer. Hopefully sell her by the end!
