So what do we think of the Badminton Cross Country Course?

Go on, be brave and make a comment before anyone has jumped it!

I thought there were many fences off a turn, and not always much room to get lined up for them, and I also didn't much like to see a couple of fences underneath a tree - the shadows cast by the tree can alter the question throughout the day, and can lead to crashing falls if the horse doesn't see it clearly - hopefully all these top riders will be aware of that!

I think it is tricky, tiring, and BIG - but then it is Badminton - I hope the weather is kind.

I think it looks amazing, can't wait to see them go around! Very tough, a true cross country test. Glad it's them and not me!

I think it's tough but will jump better than last year, ground dependant. Shame to not see the Vicarage Vee in this year but there are plenty of tough tests

I didn't walk it all, only the first 12, but thought it looked ok, not too frightening. I thought the first fence was big though! I hope it doesn't rain much, the ground looks as though it would sponge and get muddy with not too much rain.

Omg, it's a piece of piss. I could do it with my eyes shut.

Hehe.... I remember standing next to a badminton fence and realising just how brave those riders are. Incredible!

Huntsmans close looks like it could be influential again, though there's lots of alternatives. Agree that it's a shame no Vicarage Vee, but the Outlander lower lake fence looks horrifying to me! I'm also really looking forward to seeing the pair of white gates jumped - could be interesting to see whose horse is tired/pulling onwards.

All the fences are definitely filed under the 'ridiculously enormous' category for me, so I take my hat off to all the competitors!

I think id get lost in the lake! Some real crowd pleaser's not on course and definitely has a different feel about it!

Tricky skinny in the middle of the Gatehouse new pond! And agree about the overhanging branches on some of the combinations. But I'm glad I walked the whole course and now can't wait to sit with my feet up all afternoon tomorrow and watch it on the red button.

I cannot get my head around the birch rail oxers at 25 - the line looks nigh on impossible to me and that's a big test so late in the course. I'm sure they'll prove me wrong by popping through it no trouble!

Was sad to see the lack of Vicarage Vee but think its still a true 'Badminton' track. Gutted to have an uni final exam tomorrow so won't be able to watch the action.

I walked the course with lucinda fredericks, from her comments and my own observations id say it was much nicer then last years and although there was some tricky questions it seemed more flowing from the beginning.

Can't wait to watch it
No point starting my own thread as rarely get many replies but was just wondering... It's technically not a "3 day event " for some riders as some did their dressage yesterday and won't sj until sun, do you think they could be at a slight advantage?! Surely if it suits their horse they could be? Suppose u could say the same about anything though

'nicer' than last years and ground will be better so I don't think it will be as influential, course flows better.

But its still Badminton, its still big and different to what we have seen before. The fences in the middle of the long gallops (e.g Huntsmans -> Lake) are different to normal so will be interesting how that changes things. Mirage pond will again be influential. Lake a good one to watch this year as they go in twice and the birch rails on the way home.

Sad to see they've got rid of the vicarage vee though again.
