Worry ! And wonder if I should have rugged them and will they even bother going under the shelter. Then think maybe I should just go down and check Haha. Most of the time they are stood in the rain eating grass . I worry to much :-)

Ha! Think everyone's gonna get what we got here; its been horizontal stair-rods all morning. Horses are hunched under the hedge like a pair of RSPCA cases lukin' like the end of the world's coming within the next hour.

Cats took one look at it and fled to the haybarn; chicken are out scratching around it - the cockerel's tailfeathers are looking like someone's hat gone wrong on a wet afternoon at Royal Ascot; dogs are curled up by the fire (ha ha LOL, a FIRE in JUNE - this is the sunny Westcountry!!! :) )

None of the above!
I stay inside, warm and dry, probably reading a book and feeling very smug that I dont have to go out as dont have my own horse. :p
Reverse is true when nice weather though :(

Ebay, HHO & tidying the tack room for me ;)
I do need to ride later but if it stays this windy/rainy then I probably won't because I don't feel like risking my life today, it was challenging enough trying to get her to the field!

I haven't voted _ I need to be able to tick multiple options - and 'other'.
Apart from the obvious trawling of HHO, I'm browsing horse ads and writing my reports for school - don't want to do too many at once, in case the 'fed-up-of-this-ness' comes across in the writing.
I've no chance of riding - we have to school in the field and it's too wet. We have fog, so no hacking is possible. I'm keeping a close eye on the horses in case I have to bring the 30 yr old in and rug her.

I would normally wimp out, but today I schooled both :-0 im a self confessed fair weather rider :-)

If pony needs to do something then I loose school, with a rug on if needs be. But if he's worked hard the last 6 days I have no problem with chucking him a little extra hay in the field and giving him a day off!

Secret option number 8. Make a cup of tea and come online. Then dream about owning a surface.

Can't ride on my field when it's wet, don't have a surface, not prepared to ride on roads when it's awful visibility.

If the visibility is ok though, I just ride out and get wet ;)

With regards to the horses, I normally rug and leave out in field and tuck myself up at home with a cuppa and computer :D but since ebony is poorly and wouldn't be able to deal with being out in this, both neds are tucked up in their stables, and I must admit that despite the extra work it gives me a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling! Now I'm chilling on the sofa and downloading a film to watch... Such a hard life :D

Have spent HOURS today diddling around on my laptop. Got soaked to me undies yesterday, so passing today :D
I kid myself on that I'm saddle searching and sorting out my bills. I'm not. I'm gossiping on here and (even lazier) lying on my bed with the dog to do it!!
But I am working a 12 hr night shift tonight and next 4 nights :)

Well pre-horses I wrapped up warm next to the fire, under a blanket and either watched a good weepie movie or read a book.

Now that I am officially insane, I have to be up at the yard and as The GreyDonk doesn't "do" rain, I'd probably take the opportunity to clean some tack, do some yard jobs and get really wet/cold in the process so that I can come home to sit under a blanket by the fire ;).

P

I ride. I've got a rain coat and he's got a rain sheet. :p

We do have a nice big American barn, which makes such a difference in wet weather. You can do everything in the dry, then go out and get wet for an hour, then come back into the barn, get changed, dry off the horse, and finish off the stables etc. Very nice :)

My personal option is not available but in weather like this I do weeding. I know it sounds ridiculous but when you pull them in wet weather they come up nice and easy when you do it in dry weather its a hard struggle so for me its simple i do my weeding, have a perfectly good set of wet weather gear no one else is out so its a nice and quiet time to just do a job that usually is a chore.

I used to do my field management in weather like this a lot less back breaking and passed the time.

None of the above.

I go inside, shut the doors and stay inside until/unless it stops or I have to go out:D

I ride purely for pleasure now, gone are the days when I had to exercise hunters whatever the weather. Riding in the rain is NOT fun in any way, shape or form in my book.

I don't do eBay, ours is useless. Amazon is my site of choice if I feel the urge to spend money ;)

Or, I get wet indoors, playing with the ducklets!

I am with enfys on this one actually.

I'm soooooo over riding in the wind and rain. I have fully fledged into a fair-weather rider in my old age. I don't mind doing jobs in the rain but riding?? Nah. Forget it. Intentionally at least. If I get caught, well, I'll be peeved but I'll cope. Won't actually CHOOSE to ride in the rain.

dispite being a "competition wannabe" I am purely in the fairweather rider camp. Can't think of anything worse than trying to do something productive in this weather. If I wanted a sport where I was soaked I would have taken up a watersport.
