So, what is your motivation for coming on HHO?

- To show off Neddy!
- To see other people showing off their ponios.
- Sometimes an argument, unless it's far too upsetting or cringe worthy.
- Information/help.
- See how everyone is.

The two things I laughed most about on here last week were your video of slow motion Ned, the bit where he shook :D and JFTD's post saying she cried inside when she saw your tie on your showing thread / your promise to work on it

I was off work with a badly broken wrist when i joined. I was bored to death and got really inspired by some if the posters. At the time i was s happy hacker sharer but had always wanted to compete. Reading other peoples stories helped me get my confidence back and start jumping. I

Boredom mainly...
or to see how many Moths are drawn to the Idiot Candle.

Things ain't what they used to be on here thats for sure.

Because I don't have horsey friends and no one else wants to hear it! Haha bless them they try.

Other than that I am trying to absorb as much info as possible and certainly take into account varying opinions!

Helped me find a new yard and a great instructor. I am having a ball - I ADORE my boy :) I have learned so much on here and I love seeing how everyone else is doing. This forum cracks me up, often has me in tears, drives my OH insane (he's droning on now!!) and calms me down when I'm worrying for no apparent reason. My fave place to be :D

JFTD's post saying she cried inside when she saw your tie on your showing thread / your promise to work on it

I didn't put it in my original post, but one of the reasons I like coming on here is that I like to make people laugh and every now and then apparently I succeed :D:D:D

lol you lot are such liars, none of you have admitted to how much you enjoy reading a good old dindong arguement;)

I love having a good argument. :o The only thing I know anything about is horses so I've a better chance of winning on here than if I tried joining, say, a car forum.

Plus I kind of "know" people here now and like to follow how they're doing.

Ive forgotten why I joined as it was so long ago. HHO has become like a bad road accident; you cant help but look as you drive by :(

It is great for hearing news in the horsey world and getting the heads up on things that may concern me. I love seeing photos of people's horses, especially the babies. I have received amazing help on here and always post if something is puzzling me, especially medical. I enjoy the controvercial threads and the arguments too, so long as no one is being picked on who can't look after themselves. Oh and if I can actually help someone along the way, this gives me a real buzz. :)

I've been lurking for a while and only recently got brave enough to come on !
I love listening to other peoples experiences and have learnt much from other's discussions.
I like the fact that everyone has a different 'tail' [excuse pun !] to tell and does a huge variety of different horsey activities.
I love how when someone or some animal is in trouble everyone rallies round to help - it is a true community in that sense.
I find it interesting that posters 'characters' can be so visible in an electronic medium !
I'm less keen on the arguments but I guess some people will always be more critical and less tolerant than others ;)

Haha! I love that video XD I keep watching it over and over!
I must admit I had a cheeky giggle at poor JFTD's shock at my dreadful tie skills :P

I heard on a news report that 'silver surfers' could drastically reduce STML by spending two hours a day on the internet.

I am now a sociopath with a great memory.

I no longer compete so I like to have a vague idea of what's going on in the horsey world when I don't have anyone to talk about it with. I like the knowledge and experience that people share and I love love love reading competition reports and seeing pictures of people's horses. It just makes me feel more part of the horse world.

And I do like reading the odd argument ;)

I joined initially for advice. I'd had a 20 yr gap from horses and was getting a pony for the kids. (We now have 3 - we own one and loan 2, one for each daughter and one for me). I've picked up loads of useful information on here and I think it's brought me up to date on some of the stuff I've missed in the intervening years! (And by golly have things changed).

I tend to pop on and read (I read more than I post) most days. As well as trying to expand my knowledge, I do love following progress of the horses and riders on here - I love reading about Daughter and Dolly's and Delicious Dee, Fergs etc. (Have decided that when I get my own again it'll be a Highland).

I like learning as much as I can from others.

I like contributing if I feel I can.

It's nice being in the company of people who love horses as much as I do.

This pretty much sums it up for me /\

And I just simply enjoy coming on here, reading, learning, chatting to people, there are some cracking people on here.

I joined as a friend suggested it many years ago. I had no idea about HHO in truth, I did not really know what forums were as such and did not know how they worked, but I think I recall my first day I was totally hooked and posted like crazy! I had suddenly come across a place where I could talk about horses all day long and not bore people, never looked back. I do not go on while at work, job is far far too busy and demanding, I very rarely pop on at lunch, just tend to do evenings and weekends

Awww shucks!! Thanks ON!!!!

I originally came on here for LOADS of advice to my "going to buy a pony" questions!! Followed by needing shoulders to cry on with my "OMG pony is a monster" traumas! Followed by "dare I say it, things are looking up" threads!!!

Now I'm a gushing proud mum, feeling embarrassed by posting "I'm so proud - they won" threads and wondering if it's time for me to shut up about how proud I am of my girls!!!

I love reading everyone's show and progress reports. I enjoy learning about things that I'm too embarrassed to admit that I don't know anything about already!! I like photos and videos the most. And I love lurking about reading everyones arguements! :D But normally I arrive online in time to read the "where's the arguement thread gone" thread and have missed all the good stuff :o:p:rolleyes:

I've made some lovely friends on here, as has mini RM. And OH hates this website!

That's my motivation! :D

I joined in for THAT Parelli thread a few years back. I think anyway...

Then, I had a bit of fun. After that, I made some awesome friends and kinda hung around ever after.

My main interests are dressage, barefoot and holistic care and I find that there are many like minded people willing to discuss and debate.

Oh I love the arguments for some reason, they are always good fun and lots of people with good sense of humour. I have had my ups and downs but generally like spending my downtime here.

i joined to get some sound advice on breeding.

Then found out its hilarious on here. The arguments/cat fights are fab, and keep me entertained for ages.

Some of the light hearted threads and one liners are pure class.

Some sort of weird addiction??

Honestly though...lots of very helpful people.

On a mushy note.....its nice to hear other people who love their ponios!

On a less mushy note...pretty nosey...like to see peoples reactions to threads...fascinating at times!

It is nice to talk horses, as I have no one at home who is interested. I love the competition reports, takes me back.

There are several very well informed people, who have knowledge about all sorts of esoteric subjects.

Can learn a lot about lots of different horsey and non horse problems.

Like the gossip! Good debates sometimes with different points of view.

It is fun, and a bit of an addiction.
